Actually the competitive community isn't happy with the balance of the game, considering its not balanced for competitive. We've moved on ourselves and started our own balance mod to great success. -
Don't just take tech points, take strategic choke points instead. ie take system waypointing over sub hive.

They'll probably release the patch tomorrow, later in the day, and have something go wrong. And since people are going to PAX they won't be able to "fix" it for 4-5 days. This is how UWE usually delivers. -
Just because it's in NS2 doesn't mean it has to work correctly. I thought everyone would have learned that right away.
