I've had similar stutter (but shorter and more infrequent) when I've used process lasso to allocate ns2 solely to 3 of my CPU cores and all other running processes to the 4th core. I think it screws up the scheduling when the 4th core gets too busy …

Even this is not a solution. Im running the game with an i7 3770K 4.9 Ghz and I can in a 6v6 game (!!) on a NSL map get down to 40 fps in combat with a lot of entities nearby and as you all know 40 fps in this game feels like 15 fp… -

Yeah, this game got some major performance issues.I got an i7 3770K 4.9 GHz with GTX 680 and at times my fps can go down to as low as 45 in a 6v6 game if there are a lot of entities nearby like macs and such...

Im using a 144 hz asus monitor as well. My system is 4.6 GHz 3770K with a 680 GTX. Did not notice any major fps improvements overclocking the CPU from 3.5 -> 4.6 Ghz though.
My settings are 1920*1080 with textures on medium and everyt… -

After more testing the problem seems to be unrelated to any unsuccessfull loading of models that pops up in console when connecting to a server.

Hmm... problem appears again.. I think it's specifically on large servers this problems comes up. Cant seem to load models/model whatever when I join a large server...

Actually this fixed itself by doing a validation of the steam files
