Yes, it would be surprisingly low-cost to implement, and would reap pure profit. Complexity of system is dev determined, and can remain as simple as the addition of a single item to the game.
Regardless, there would be back end work, and… -
Extra bandwidth will not make server performance exceed bottlenecks in tickrate/netcode. But definitely hit that min requirement on your pipe

The fact that he took it down might indicate that the initial assumptions about his trolling may not be fully substantiated.

I have enough hours in NS2, that I feel UWE deserves more than the 40 I paid years ago.
Give me an excuse! (an in game excuse; not music, art, or physical products as they are not up my alley, and would prob have a lower profit margin for UWE) -
Bring out cosmetic options that cosmetically fit the NS2 universe, I will part with money happily.

Alien vision needs a revamp as to be the preferred selection over a community mod.
-
(Quote) As far as I can tell, this is the best solution, but as a slight addition, auto-select your last used combination for your lifeform, and it should be the last grouping you used given the currently available upgrades. So make the auto-pres…

I wouldn't mind secondary fire causing a quicker followup shot, but with a recoil kick affecting aim, making it only viable for large aliens in close combat

I though it took less than half the team? What are concede conditions? -
Remember Shade structures have no armor, so that infinite range, accurate, light damage side arm is ready

It used to be aoe right? Used to use it on arms labs when big fights were going on
Value increased the larger the player count. Now it snaps its effect to what it touches first, which is a nerf on something that needed a buff/rework -
Anyways, back on topic, how about whenever enough concede votes would normally trigger a loss, let the players on the conceding team who did not vote concede, vote on whether they will allow it. Maybe a 10 second event, and if an equal number of peo…

ADHD is a character for sure

I will personally make sure ADHD sees this thread if he hasn't already. This is hilarious. -
The problem is also that the concede option puts all the power of ending the gaming experience for others in the power of the non-players, people who come and go at their whim, where as the main players who play all aspects of the game have no power…

Expecting people to simply play out at least SOME of their games is not abnormal. I would not force anyone to do anything they don't want to, but the majority of concede's are just people giving up because losing upsets them overly. This is what I b…

You are not everyone. The concede option is abused by players of many, but not all types. Good players generally aren't conceding more than 2 out of 5 games I notice, and I'm being generous as to not bring down hellfire on me, haha… -
I seem to be banned from tactical Gamer, I get kicked when I join, sometimes with more than 5 slots open.
If I can't play on a server, I'd rather not see it as a potential play option in the browser.
+1 op -
In MMA tap outs only occur when someone is convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt they lost. This is obviously not the same as conceding in ns2.

You're only getting "beaten up" if you don't enjoy the game when losing (a part of the game). Take a minute and wonder at what might make a person not enjoy the losing aspect of a game that they are obviously a fan of. Then conside… -
Losing is a part of the game, people do not seem to understand this. It's quite indulgent to want to play out your wins but none of your losses. Many times concedes happen when a game is salvageable.
I guess I'm a bit more jaded than the… -
NS2stats is for recording player data.
The ranking, and any advanced organization of player data (recorded or not) should not be associated with this process, though it inevitably will (and to an extent currently is) . An opt-out option would … -
-remove time constraints
-when a vote would normally end the game, prompt the winning team with an accept vote, so the concede has to be allowed
-the prompt should be something on the scoresheet, so it's not affecting a player's FOV

I notice attention varies from person to person. For some staying on top of all chat/mics over their regular game is easy, for most its not mentally comfortable/possible.
Lots of info is tricky -
I miss batteries, ninjaing phase gates will never be the same, but charlies decision to remove them is better for what NS2 is supposed to be, imo

A personal want of my own as well

I would also like to see an ELO system that somehow works in NS2.
(ELO is not applicable to games like this, despite the forced usage in lieu of anything better)
Always willing to learn though -
My ideal parasite:
-Only removable by armory
-Infinite life time
-Tags structures until welded to full health/armor
-Energy and delay are fine to prevent spamming in lieu of aim -
The server owner can run it as they see fit.
This entitlement that anyone paying money for you to play NS2 has to abide by your rules is infantile. Put your money where your mouth is, don't put your mouth where someone else's money is.

Given the intangible complexity of how the meta-game changes in different server sizes, we're arguing from personal experience. The only numbers we have are win rates of pubs. Thanks to the law of averages, this data must be representative of somet…
