I have not read the whole thread here, but I read the original post and have a thought.
If they were to make a new game mode, I would call it "Custom"
Don't yell at me yet...
I have been playing Subnautica for at least a year… -

You are right about that... Time to hit the drawing board and see if I can mold this into a more fitting design. -

I reread your post and love the thoughts you bring up. Super cool stuff man.
I just posted my thread for the Coelacanth, that having more vehicle options, even when they are actually redundant makes perfect sense. Both within… -

It was meant to be a workhorse and to kind of hover over the seabed. That was the purpose of the vertical thrusters. But they can easily be replaced by dynamic ballasting.
I liked the idea of starting with a certain lev… -
This is why we need a kitchen. Food prep using blends of meats, veggies and spices could easily have a positive effect where you regain health faster or gain more value from the food or something.

I like the way you guys are thinking. -

I agree, that a light bar would be very cool. And thanks.
Names are just my own. haha.

This...totally agree! -

Yeah I agree. I just thought it would be fun. But it is unnecessary. -
Posted a similar idea. I'd like a "surface run mode" for the Seamoth, Cyclops and when the swimmer is just swimming.

This would work anywhere the water was deeper than 35m. But the games map is a bit small for an epic awesome beast like this. Maybe in later expansion packs? A vast map with new missions and new places to explore. But for now, its a bit big. But the…

I know. But the Cyclops has that one alien tech upgrade that allows for 2800 meters. So maybe in the future there will be things closer to the bottom of the world. Maybe a deep trench or cave.
Otherwise I would agree. -

Yeah, that would work . -

I like that. I only didn't do that because I didn't want to replace to Prawn. Just to supplement it.
But still, having some other options would be cool. Maybe some things for exploring and science. -
Now that I think about it though, the design of a ball with a forward looking fixed camera. And a single clamp jaw that can crack outcrops and then grab the item inside. Then return to the base, sub, controller whatever system it is launched from, a…

Upgrading the camera drone into an ROV would be awesome. I did post a form of that called the Lobster. http://forums.unknownworlds.com/discussio… -
Maybe this could combine with @EvilSmoo 's food block machine. Having a tiny kitchen and the ability to prepare more than basic foods. Such as food blocks for big energy …

Didn't know that worked. -
I think I'll post some other submarine designs in the regular general forum. They aren't Subnautica submarines. They're just submarines I've designed. A couple are real world designs meant to be built. (its just the basic design models, so there's n…

Hopefully I will have time to add the forward thrusters. Though I think they will be smaller and work as maneuvering thrusters that give a slight speed boost. Boosting would raise speed to 24 knots (12.3 m/s) but have triple energy consumption.

Thanks. I like it too. -

Yep, your right. I haven't tried in a while but last I tried it didn't do much. But status torpedoes work to stop a reaper for a few seconds. But I haven't tried it on the Sea Dragon. -
That said... A torpedo that snags a creature and drags them away for a bit or floats them up a ways away would be nice. And it wouldn't need to be in any way harmful. Just a "go away now mister fish"
Lol. -

That was the idea. a small basket at the base of the arms could hold the items.

Wait....hang on...when I stop laughing....
Yeah, I don't think so.
I'm not sure my skysat has any purpose whatsoever. But your idea definitely made me laugh. in SkySat Comment by Artorius October 2016 -

Having range to beacons and maybe also beacon channels should be possible. But may be a bit of work like you say. -

This should be its own thread. Great idea. Being passive and still being able to do things in areas where dangerous creatures lurk would be super nice. A simple robotic bait fish could even work. Swimming nearby and attracting pred… -

Yeah, I understand that. It's why I brought it up. To consider the ramifications of the change. It changes too much. Oh well. -
So back to the original purpose here. Can we get better lights that don't glare against the view-dome? and have the control column mounted lower to not block so much view? The column just needs to be a bit smaller.

>> Still... what if the heat was what gates Seamoth, and not just pressure? Perhaps have Seamoth suffer from massive energy usage in cold areas <10C, and have it overheat and shut down (or explode!) when over 40C? That way it needs to avoid…
