    Yet another attempt.

    <a href='http://www.geocities.com/refleks180/nc.html' target='_blank'>http://www.geocities.com/refleks180/nc.html</a>

    TSA-SADM (Special Atomic Demolition Munition)
An updated version of the 20th century SADM, the special atomic demolition munition is a man portable physics package in a shock and EMP hardened case.

With a variable yield ranging from 10 tons to 1 kt, the SADM is capable of localized and area demolition.

After the yield is selected, the user inputs his command code and then the countdown. The two keys are turned simultaneously, and then the switch with the protective cover is unlocked. The bomb is now armed. Once the switch is thrown, the SADM begins the countdown.

SADM-A has no abort capability, however the later versions do.

I'm still trying to figure out how to make one that looks more like a marine structure rather than a box or pallet at knee height!

You could make an upright box (like the armoury, with different details of course) and add this too the side of it.

I´ve got an idea if you choose my model (although you wont).
    ok, here we go:
when the nuke thing is activated it drops nukes from the ceiling on differend areas on the map (and everything goes white <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html//emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif' /><!--endemo-->).

voogru. is it gonna need any animations?
  • DoombringerDoombringer Join Date: 2002-11-15 Member: 8679Members, Constellation
Aww, the nuke-in-a-case is great! Maybe a few doodads on the outside to spice it up, and it could open up when finished building...

The keys could turn or it could light up or something while the nuke is 'researching'... hmm.

It doesnt *need* any animations, but I can make use of any animations.

I like your model a lot, maybe have a simple sequence with the case opening/closing just for an effect. I can make it so the nuke needs to be used, the admin would get a menu to arm it or whatever, so having a case like thing open would make it seem cool <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

edit2x: one last question voogoodaddy, is there any maximum polycount you want me to keep the model in range of? i'm thinking of adding more detail to the thing, but i dunno if i want to...

Feel free to add more detail, just make it so it doesnt slow down the system to a halt when being drawn <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

ahm so flattered ^_^ i cut the polys down to 1000 even though, so i think i'll just leave it at that....because i'm wierd....yeah...besides, i can just add the detail to the skin ^_^

edit: a few hours and countless cigarettes later....i ran out of creative juices <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo--> i'll work on it tomorrow more though.

    I like burncycle's and 5ive's the best.
Especially the 2 keys on Burncycle's model. That would make a great animation of both of them turning when activated.

I was bored so I modeled one of the missile loaders of today (slightly different of course, mostly since I seem to have misplaced my references lol), generally used to load phoenix missiles and others within that class..<!--emo&::marine::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/marine.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='marine.gif' /><!--endemo-->

personally, i think it'd look better if the head of the thing looked less like a mushroom...or a ****....hrm...

but rather, more like a missile? lol, make the tip of it uniform with the rest of the rocket, so it's like a nice pretty shaft...

god this post sounds really perverted...
  • TheCarNinjaTheCarNinja Join Date: 2004-02-29 Member: 26994Members
Damn, i really wish i had the refs, i could show you better.. <!--emo&--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad.gif' /><!--endemo--> See the thing is that the, "Tip" of the missile as you put it isn't. Thats actually part of the loader, the purpose is to protect the warhead from getting hit or moved around. You definitely dont want that happening. The missile itself is inside it, like so <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo--> :

I figured I'd probably end up screwing around with something like this eventually.

    <img src='http://www.wrestlinghaven.com/gg/Jaeger/meh.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

Meh. I intended to have a warhead jerry-rigged to a mobile power generator. It sorta ended up as a fusion-implosion device.

It uses the default TF anims, though.
