    How about these ideas:

    A) A boiler/water heater/ Water Pressure Tank

    B) A mini-model of the titanic (I dunno, just think it'd fit in sitting on the floor there)

    C) A windows perhaps? (I dunno, is this 100% below ground, or is the roof even with the ground? If so, make a window w/ the lil hole thingy for light to come in)

    D) A different view if possible (would make it easier for mappers to use I think)

    E) Share the talent! (I wanna know how to model <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo--> )

should be in art forums yes, way too high poly, but it's nice tho it's not very hard to model <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

This would go nice with something cinematic, even though it wouldn't make it's way into a map.

If that was an actual map you would be told:

The walls are too plain! add some interesting architecture there! Machinery... monitors, lights... etc <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Whats the size compared to, is that lil door down at the bottom on the left wall large enought for a marine or just a skulk?
Great work i am astonished at your work. I would also like to add, that your pipes should be add to all NS and CO maps instead of the ones they have, your work is the great.

If you're asking me, I wouldn't like to think about it. Each flange is over 10k ^^. Probably around 300k overall...

    alright people new renders
first one with new roof area i think it looks pretty good but i thought the floor looked kinda empty so in the seconed one i changed the floor just a little <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
but now i think i went a bit overboard
i know there are some errors but i saw them too late in the rendering proccess
for some reason the first one took me 5 min to render but the seconed one took me an hour and a half go figure
im still waiting on those boiler pictures and ofcourse all crits are welcome

i like how you can see the pipes below the floor in the second one, but i think the grating is just too much. maybe if you had 2 or 3 of those window like grates in the first shot, it would break up the floor space without being overwhelming.
  • Vash_Fourty_Five_LcVash_Fourty_Five_Lc Join Date: 2003-06-01 Member: 16913Members
I like the second one, the full grating floor adds a lot of atmosphere imho. Coming along nicely..but now the million dollar question. What the heck is this all gonna be used for anyways? I think it's safe to say right now it's just a render pic for a wallpaper or the such, other wise the poly count would make my comp break down and cry..
  • ChronoChrono Local flyboy Join Date: 2003-08-05 Member: 18989Members
ok people i kinda changed the grating i think this looks better but im still waiting for those boiler pics of what you all think and sorry about the crap **** render i just dont have the time to put a full out render on

The light behind the fan would be best done as a directional light, or at least moved some distance from the fan so it doesn't project onto the floor so hugely.
  • ChronoChrono Local flyboy Join Date: 2003-08-05 Member: 18989Members
    i was bored so....
    the pictures speak for themselves
thanks for the idea one the light ill move it next render
(the seconed one is whats under all the grating)
