there is a clip actually... and it's not an energy rifle... it chambers 20mm caseless ammunition. Originally it's a sniper weapon but because NS lacks auch a weapon it will made to replace the HMG I guess. I think the design of the magazine should be rethought since it was originally so small... Specs indicate it only has 4 round capacity of 20mm ammunition. This is, by the way, a bullpup designed rifle so the magazine fits into the rear portion of the gun behind the handle.
I'm imagining it would reload like an old rocket launcher, that is, you shove the clip in at the far back of the weapon... But if you got all those stats for it, then sure. EDIT: because it's your model, heh. Whoops.

i wouldnt mind a not-so-complex-animation, the gun could just be lowered, some sounds would make you believe its being reloaded. if you want to make a complex animation even better <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
SInce the barrel is so long, you might want the reload start with something like the player placing the gun on his shoulder. Lean it back so you see much of the rear of the gun. Reloading commences. It'd be pretty, and it wouldn't take up too much of the player's view.

soldier presses gun against chest, barrel pointing left. left hand grabs the handle and pulls out. gun returns to pointing forward, tilted clockwise 45 deg. left hand puts in new clip. right arm brings gun facing 90 deg vertical; left arm pushes handle back in, returns to idle position.
yeah that's an Idea I had earlier... I saw that lever on the top of the weapon as some sort of magazine release mechanism. Well im gonna through this thought in ..stay with me here...its a virtual sighting system right....that camera is that half sphere right...the projected image of what is bein takin in from the camera shold be projected sumwhere right.... unless its a direct feed image to the marines visor the only other plaec it could go is onto that handle or what ever it is, you know like a transparent screen. its just a thought.
Im working on some, but the meshes dont allow for much deformation... I need to deform the muzzle a little bit. (make it fat at the end so it looks normal and not tapered ingame.)
