wow a triple feature? what a good idea. I wonder if theaters in my neighborhood are doing that... they should toss the animatrix in there too for good measure... and the video game...

Yeah the pity with the Animatrix was that it was only a very limited release in cinemas and was pretty much a 'straight to DVD' release, thank christ I saw it on the big screen. It was simply gorgeous to behold.

We have a projector instead of a TV so the Animatrix was rather large (and amazingly cool)

don't worry spidermonkey, I wasn't crazy about reloaded either =P mainly because it shattered my illusions that Neo was cool. At the end of original matrix, you have the impression that Neo is some untouchable godlike figure now that he released the power of the One. Along comes Reloaded, and not only is he suddenly NOT invincible, but he probably gets his **** kicked more than he kicks ****... I mean, I guess if he was invincible it wouldn't be much of a movie, but still, couldn't they think of a way to preserve his coolness factor?
• spidermonkeyspidermonkey @ Join Date: 2003-09-13 Member: 20810Members
Well, reloaded had a lot more problems.

The zion "orgy" scene was drawn out and pointless, it also didnt make sense. There people are dancing, whilst awaiting their demise? pfff. And they wear rags? In this city powered by immense technology? pfff. The movie lost a lot of its feel aswell, it fealt too overproduced, and seemed to try too hard. The plot was also messy. Not to mention the ending... Dont get me started . Perhaps, and i dont think it will happen, revolutions may reinstate the balance, but doubtful.

I don't have tickets. Hell, i don't even know the release date. It's not like it's Star Wars or something, it's only the Matrix.

*EDIT: The first one came out, it was quite cool, but not exactly the best film ever, the sequel came out and that was ok in parts and mediocre in the majority, now the third film and people are....? Excited?

Revolutions hasn't been getting the best reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. Hopefully with the addition of more reviews, things will improve.

And don't start with the "critics know nothing" comments. They do a pretty good job with feeling out good and bad movies.

Too quote the MTV 2003 Matrix take off

"Urgh, where the hell is this?"
"You're in Zion baby!"
"What is this place?"
"Duh, it's obviously an underground city where the last remaining humans live and the robots are coming to kill us. DOESN'T THAT JUST MAKE YOU WANNA PARTY?!"

the rave scene shows that the creators needed to pump the length of the movie up and had no qualms with boring the audience to death with that mixed with scenes of trinity and neo rolling about naked. I could feel myself getting ready to leave just before it ended...

I think it's also people didn't like Reloaded because they went in expecting one thing (having not watched Trailers and such) and didn't get what they wanted.

Me, having watched all of the trailers religiously everyday, I know what to expect and what it will be and all I can say is...Infinitum, I hate you oh so very much right now. I have to be up @ 9 on Wed, no theaters near where I live and no friggin car. but i'll just watch Matrix/Reloaded/Animatrix 11/05.

As opposed to Star Wars Episode III, a 100% chance of dissapointment. Well, actually maybe not, they lowered expectations so much with Ep I and II that III may look like a godsend in comparison.

Reloaded wasn't horrible, it just sucked between the fight scenes.

lol gem, i couldnt have said it better.

Ah, remember that fight scene w/ 100+ agent smiths. That scene was rediculous. Me and my friend were just shaking our heads saying "theyve ruined the matrix"

Such a shame when compared to the masterpiece matrix I was.
