The thread is seven pages along because the people working on it are good enough to actually let you know how its progressing.
You've been able to read that one person lost their anims, and another is having modelling program problems. A third is struggling with models floating off the bone.
People are working on it. You can SEE this. Demanding more speed DESPITE KNOWING THAT THERE ARE PROBLEMS is just poor taste, imho.

Brief update here-
The alien v weapons are entirely completed. They were submitted as a t2k exclusive, and since t2k is dying, you'll probably never see them. I'd say definitely, since the pack contains exclusive content to t2k as is, AND any redistribution of the other contents has to be cleared by me, since most if not all has been edited by myself.
And I've had no info about it being moved from t2k.
Starcraft v weapons -
Ultralisk - I have a model which I am working on. Anims are all drawn up on paper, I reckon it'll be done by Sunday or so.
Mutalisk is being chopped down by me, likely will need the same re-boning thing by cookie, as for the animation.....errrm, well, it'll be fairly simple, but nice.
Hydralisk - I, personally, miss a dedicated acid rocket on it, so I'm intending to put on the triple acidrocket spikes that Hyper Geek made, but the problem is that the bottom of the spikes are shaded, and I can't "mirror" them perfectly on either side.
Again, I'm not a modeller, nor a skinner, so you'll likely see several posts on the following:
Ultralisk - needs a better mouth reskin Mutalisk - needs a better reskin in general, but specifically on the lower mouthy thing Hydra - needs unshaded spikes which line up perfectly at the top of the screen.
When I ask for those, you'll know they're nearly done, though I'll update this thread with every finished model. I'll keep working!

I've been playing with the placements, and I've come to the conclusion I don't like the tiny head on the Ultralisk. I can use it as a v weapon, but its...... bad.
So, you're the ones who'll be using this, so here's your chance to CHOOSE.
One of these pics uses the lerk and skulk teeth to make a nice little hybrid mouth.
for some reason i suggest achually delete the head for the onos and have only the "tusks"(if tahts what they r called) showing in the V models, this could save some screen space....i dono, just an idea...
im with mushi i think that it would be better if we would see just the claws. i will try to explain how i imgine it: we first see all the claws (mean that we see the surface of it) when the animation start the claws do a 45o rotate and then the claws make their slash
I can actually have a devour idle anim, and I'm making it look different to the gore/charge/stomp ones which must be identical. Secondly, I like teeth on my devour anims.
They won't be there if you're not trying to eat someone.
Finally, if you don't like it, make your bloody own.
Now, with all that laid out, WHICH OF THOSE TWO?

Fair dinkum. Besides, if anyone models better teeth, its a simple matter of swapping em about. End of the day, I'll have a v model that people can easily switch about if they make better stuff.

Big pic for you. Here's the proper stuff. This IS whats BEING used - the other pics were photoshops of what COULD be.
Now, here's what I really have so far. Top pic, the mouth I've hackjobbed. I might move the lower jaw down a bit. ATM I'm playing with the origin. Second pic is the claws on their own. This is what you'll spend most of your time staring at.
The devour idle will have the claws in. The devour ATTACK will PROBABLY use both the claws and the mouth in a sort of scoop action, or more likely I'll remove the claws and just have it bite. Biting would be easier, so atm the scoop is an option for me.
Yeah I've been playing about with the angle of one of the spine bones, so I can get closer to a top down view. Usually I'd just use $origin but it doesn't control that axis, so I've to pick a bone and go for it. I'll give it a bit more of a tweak, since I've removed the top shell of the Ultralisk and have removed the head too - so I've more angle to play around with.

If they're much lower they're going to be off the screen.
Right now I'm tilting them and putting them together with the teethy bits. I want them to take up SOME of the screen because the Onos tusk blocks a fair bit as well. And I want to retain those "visual handicaps" as it were.
Note that everything is now in the one file. I have a gore, devour, idles for both, so that means we're effectively 1/2-2/3 of the way there (what with half the attacks and all the idles being repeated.. mm).
However, as usual, things refuse to measure up. Observe how the teeth aren't high enough. Moving the teeth origin does little/nothing. Putting them around the claw origin is Bad.
In other news, I'm moderately happy with the individual views. Here's a little something I cooked up for you lucky people.

I can assure you that the model will not be physically altered from that, so you can use that to make your reskin, then send me the BMPs for the final build.
For everyone else, its stalled till I get the model back, but since I've a devour, devour idle, gore, gore idle, stomp idle, charge idle, and the various switch animations already done, it won't be much work left after I get the file back.
Ok, update for the interested - I'm still waiting for my v model back with the teeth/arms in the proper place.
I dunno if cookie is still working on it, or if I've missed an email/pm, but in any case its not back in my hands.
In other news, I'm hopefully being offered a job soon, and that will dramatically decrease my spare time for staring at large strings of numbers in wordpad. I'll probably finish the Ultra and then veeeeery slooooooowly work through the mutalisk, but I can't give guarantees as I've no idea how demanding work will be.
