the only thing which isnt up to scratch is the zergling v model, it doesnt really animate like it should do. it just moves a fraction of what its supposed to do.

I don't think so - the runner has a 40 frame bite lasting one second.
If you ask me, and I may be wrong, I think its because you left out a pick_teeth anim.
Just shove a copy of any stock anim in there, and it should be fine. I'd the same problem when I missed out some anims while making the fade - anims would play in odd places.
So, afaik, since you left out pick_teeth, leap_attack became pick_teeth. Bite_attack became leap_attack. And draw became bite_attack. Or something like that anyhow.

I'd just copy idle1 and rename it to pick_teeth, insert it into the mdl and thats it. Sure, it means no actual teeth picking, but meh, what the hell. As for a draw anim, you could probably wordpad it. just mess with the rotation on the furthest back arm joints - either have them coming up from below, or in from the sides, or whatever. TBH I've no idea what the zergling model actually LOOKS like anymore....
Tell you what, I'll have a try and see if I can butcher you an anim. It might not be pretty but "it'll do", hehe.
As for a reskin (sorry for continually jabbering on about it but me's desperate to finish the Alien stuff off) all you need to do is just recolour the gorge bit, no milkshape needed.

Check your mail cookie. BTW I should point out that I've not touched the leap anim, so the stark jump between vert and horiz claws is because of the animation. Might want to start and end the anim with some sort of rotation, but thats just my own breed of perfectionism.

I finished the rotaty leap - I'm sort of happy with it. Still some little quirks (like the weapons spontaneously shifting despite no animation coding for it) but that happens sometimes with the Lerk I cobbled up too. Mind boggles. Anyhow, I've got both versions on my desktop now.

erm...... page one just has the default Onos anims pre-extracted, alongside the hydra v weapon.
I can't find zerg onos anims.
BTW I should point I don't model, I just play with anims in wordpad. I thought that somewhere there existed the Onos v weapon that only need animated (sort of like the Onos one i put up and asked for stomp, cos i have the rest).
If I was, I wouldn't make threads asking for people's help in making new models. I'd just work away happily.
Now, truth be told, I COULD go through the onos model, take out any mention of bones for the legs, remove any triangle thats linked to the non-claw texture, experiment to find which triangles code for the rearmost lump, then play about with the origins until you can just see the big claws....
But that would take days. And is work for a proper modeller. I just do hackjobs and wordpad anims - I know my limits.
I thought the problem was that the base v weapon existed but just needed ANIMATED - I was intending to use the zergling claw waving anims and get through all the basic attacks, etc. That would give a better person something to work from.

If you ask me, and I may be wrong, I think its because you left out a pick_teeth anim.
