hmm.. those tubes gave me an idea, how about putting the alien models in the tubes? Hi there. Just started working on my map for NS (origional, not CO). Been waiting to do this for some time, and have a floor plan all worked out (more on that later when I have it in the editor).
Anyway, here is my first room about 40% done (lots more to go)
For those of you who might have played QWarII (unlikely any of you have) I did many of the maps for that too about three years ago.
glad yall like my tubes:) i was kind hoping not to put aliens in tehm... but mebe colonists or someting. paralex: my only beef is that there is no trim for teh floor grate in teh center section of the bottom picture but other than that looks nice

Yeah, I plan to totally change the ceiling. Most of the textures in the room are just placeholders anyway, especially the walls and ceiling, and most of the floors. Thinking light fixtures with a tangle of wires above, lots of room for skulks to hide.
As for where the resource nozzle is now, I plan to make that slightly higher, and I plan to put up a lil fence along all the pathway.
The ladder is not seethough because it took me a while to remember how to make ladders and I haven't yet made that a func_wall instead of a func_ladder.
The doors, well yes, I have put a black box around this room because I wanted to light it for the screenies. There are adjacent rooms, and they will have better doors <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

You can thank the new textures for that one, this whole project started with that room, which was really just experimenting with ns2.wad. All I did was make a circular room with circular stairs, in hammer. Needless to say I won't be playing in that one very much, as the whole thing is off grid.
I've finally downloaded the new textures, but have yet to add them into QuArK for editing. Dude, that bridge is kick'n. i love it. the view of the hull is a nice addition as well. The hanger is a bit dark, but the rest is awesome. I like the MS too. The new design idea is good.
