Well, we are fine with help, we just have more slots left available for people to choose from. This project is not desperate as those poor few interperate. Go read our forums and website for more info on how you can help.
Quaunaut, when you were browsing the forum(http://s2.invisionfree.com/Natural_Selection/) for weeks on end, did it occur to you that the huge bold print in the announcement forum might be relevant to your troubles?
As bong just indirectly mentioned... We moved to a new site and new forums almost two weeks ago (Don't you read the Announcements?). The link is in our signatures here.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but theresa couple of things I need to point out:

As for the website... at this point, i would wager a lot more on the creators of RedvsBlue.com than I would on a team with 0 experience and a big idea.
[edit] frankly, what i'm trying to say is: i would be interested in signing onto this project but so far it sounds like every other over-ambitious project begun by people who don't exactly know what they're getting into.
if you can show me a product, or even meaningful progress - then i'd be far more interested. [/edit]
I can use 3D Studio MAX. heres an example of my most recent scene render (Samus from metroid- modeled by me) <a href='http://users.ev1.net/~michaell/backlit.jpg' target='_blank'>Metroid scene</a>
Anyways, it sounds like some fun and I can volunteer to do some environment modeling in 3D studio max, like the space station or whereever the movie will take place. I'm gonna read through your forums later tonight to see what could be done.
To set the record straight, Mercior, I dont think there has ever been a <b>full length</b> movie, and we have already <b>proven</b> that what we are planning to do is far more than possible, and it is unlike anything else out there
We already have most of our script planned out, and we are going to do film and edit the movie one scene at a time, we are not going to do it in huge increments.
Ayatollah, we have most everything worked out and arn't kidding around, contact me in private if you want to learn more. GoldenShadow we would love to have you on board - we still need a lot more modelers
I have experience scripting in C++ for a role-playing community right now, in fact, I'm making the promotion video (powered in full 3D by the Neverwinter Nights Engine and movie is 100% C++ script) for them right now, and they tell me that my work's fantastic. I'm a die-hard NSer too, though, and this project looks very interesting, so I'll help all I can once I'm done and I'll move over here.

The script, which falls mainly (Though not exclusively) into my jurisdiction, is all planned and outlined in detail, so only the dialogue itself remains to be written. Planetkiller and I are, I believe, quite capable of finishing what we've started. I would love to demonstrate our progress, but I'm sure you can see the logic of not revealing the script before the movie is even filmed. It would really kill the impact.
All I'm willing to say about it right now is that in the screenwriting department, we're looking at this like a hollywood movie. It may be based on a game, but "Humans vs. Aliens" is only part of the story.
you could release a trailer. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Maybe you should team up with the dudes that are making the rendered movie ...ah I forget what its called, but it was on RR.Org once. They could use cgi effects with ya. The whole problem with using the game that I see is that the skulks need to appear fast, extreamly fast moving and what not, and using the game...that is gonna be a little hard.
It will NOT be released as a demo. That is definate.
To those who have doubts about us, I'd like to point out that though we haven't done this before, hardly anyone actually HAS done it before. Also, just because we haven't done it before doesn't mean that we don't know how to do it, or that we haven't had experience in other prjects that require similar skills.

I've just discovered a really cool looking program which might be of use to you. Not sure if you guys already know about this, but if you don't then you might consider registering it and buying the full version. I havn't had a chance to check out the shareware version yet, but if it does what it says then I'd buy it without a doubt, as it looks so awsome.
I would just like to say thank you to all who have participated in this thread, even the people with the negative comments. Truth is, you have all inspired and motivated us. So, thank you, again.
Now, I am posting to recruit anyone with modeling and/or skinning talent. My team needs people who are dedicated to see this project to the end. If anyone is interested, please stop by the <a href='http://nsmovie.ralphygn.com/forums/index.php' target='_blank'>Natural Selection Movie Forum</a> and register today. We need need help with the modeling and skinning of original characters.
