An awesome, under-rated server
Being an irregular at [ARS] Clan's server, I had very little realization as to how well that server was run. A friend and I laned a night playing ARS for 6 hours straight, producing some stunning games with challenging people. I think that some servers get buried in the publicity of powerhouse servers like [CoFR] Aliens Infest and Nano-Gridlock.
All in all, the server is well moderated by mature Admins, and deserves a look. Just sharing my warm fuzzy feeling after an awesome night of 1.04.
Edited for gross mispelling

It is an 18 player server, and I've never really seen a problem with lag myself (but then again, I'm on a business cable line with 1.5 both ways).
LLJK + ARS passworded were some of the best games I've ever played.

This was one of the first servers i ever played on... i was so proud of myself. I had guessed the password and was playing with password protected people...

I would tend to agree with you... but the ars clan server banned me for *cheating* wouldnt even let me send them a demo. So i'm still going to have to side with cofr/nano-gridlock. I cant wait for servers to show CD running by your name.
hambone, ns1 was spending 80% of its time idle when we had the pass on, and with it unpassworded we've built up a much larger base of regulars. So large that when we stick the pass back on every Wednesday, it's 18/18 with regulars playing CAL config for 6-8 hours. Besides, you found shampoo there so what've you got to complain about?*
On edit: gargle, another ban. Lagger, we should have a demo of you too.
Look, to everyone: if you don't hack and got banned from the ArsClan server, please go post in the Public Admin Forum.
Freemantle, thanks for the good thoughts.
*This was a joke, a little light-hearted japery if you will.
Funny thing ... I was just playing on Nano gridlock when an admin started asking if we wanted to play seige_006. I posted that if they switched to siege that I'd leave. Within two minutes I found myself PERMANENTLY banned. So, don't think there aren't lameass admins on the big servers too ...
^What they said. I've definitely seen contested bans overturned, and the link to the forum is presented every couple minutes in one of those annoying drop down messages - if you're sincere about wanting to clear your name.
Freemantle those were some good games - I especially liked how the some of the idiots on at 5am thought you were hacking when you had MT. The only reason I started getting upset with your friend is technically playing in the same location and providing information to someone else is a no-no. I know it was just in fun, but some of the other players got upset when he'd shout where the jet packs were coming from, where the team's gorge was, etc, etc. Hence why I recommended you just play on the same team... we try to keep everyone on the server happy. GG's regardless, hope to see you around more.
but it was a really good server. I don't know why CoFR and nano are so popular, they can't handle bast or hera but they both run it for some silly reason.
Bans on our server are handed out by WonID, not name, so you may want to rethink that gambit.
Lucid, the fact that your email went unanswered is pretty uncool, as that counts as contesting it, in my book. I have no idea why that happened, though - who you emailed, why it wasn't unanswered, etc. Maybe it just disappeared into the interweb. You too may post there.
I mean, there are a couple issues here. It's 1.04, and except for the most blatant people with a 90-degree range for target aquisition set on their aimbot, it can get really hard to spot who has an aimbot and who doesn't. I also think it stands to reason that there are more people with aimbots than with genuine skill. And lastly, we can't just go "oh it was a guy from eR or #cri or [one], better unban him" because then we're just big tools.
Finally, yes, we can't flipping wait for first-person spec. That will make things so much easier.
And I enjoyed "InDaClub"'s accusations that I was too good with the pistol and I must have aimhacks and scripts. I wonder if he will ever see my sig...
The MT situation was funny as well, and I agree that first person spectating will make server admin's jobs easier, as VAC and CD are only as good as the vector programmers are bad. My experience on ARS actually made me consider competitive Natural Selection play again, as I had a falling-out in my previous experience.
