The reason why is obvious, The doom 3 model is WAY!!!! TOO HIGH POLY!!
and the skin is different so i changed the creadits

    Second, you are aware that admitting to having the original of this is absolutely retarded. There's no legal way you have the model for this.

    Considering how wound up id Software got about the alpha being leaked, i'm sure spreading it further's a <i>really</i> nice thing to do.

    Try remodelling it yourself or something, the Doom3 model will be far too high-poly to use in HL.

    1) i dont have Doom 3 as i said i converted it from tfc

    3) I dont think it is the original it might be changed look at the skin and it is quite low poly <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->


    EDIT: Head crab just change the origin and THERE YA GO i forgot to change the origins :/ so the reload animations goes through your view.

    yeah, they arent. When you animate, uncheck Operate on Selected Joints only. Or dont take frame-by-frame animation too literally.

    it is the doom3 model, except your version has more polys. the doom 3 version is 788 polys. the version your releasing is the exact same mesh right down to the vertex placement of the original doom3 model. i think its extremely bad taste to release a leaked version of a yet unreleased weapon.

    how would i know what? that its the doom3 weapon? somebody sent me a bunch of doom3 weapons about 4 months ago asking me to convert them for a mod. i thought they looked like the screenies id seen of the doom3 game. i asked a friend online who had played the alpha, to send me the weapons files so i could compare them. there in md5 format which was an unknown format to me at the time,but i googled a converter and checked them myself. thats how i know.

    The weapons models are bump-mapped. It gives the illusion of more detail thanks to the bumping and Doom3's superb lighting system. Kinda like Halo 2's system where the Master Chief is now made up of less polies than in the previous game, because the new bump-mapping system creates shadows and highlights based on alpha channels.

    yep they merely appear to be higher poly ingame than they actually are, the doom3 ar is 788 polys and your rel is even higher (polycountwise) this is tantamount to warez and should not be released on these forums.

    Actually there is a.... certain.... build one could obtain the models from....

    Edit: Second, the Doom 3 model isn't that high-poly, the bump-mapping and vertex shaders and other things are what give it the pazazz.
