Nope.

Recent contenders:

- Gaebryn (wife is 'okay' on this one)
- Rhannon (she doesn't like this one)
- Griffin (Her pick, but I guess I'm okay with this one. It'll require a very unusual 1 or 3 syllable middle name though)
• InfinitumInfinitum Anime Encyclopedia Join Date: 2002-08-08 Member: 1111Members, Constellation
Isn't Gaebryn a little too close to Gabriel who is a biblical name or somethin....

Also... gaebryn is too easy to make fun of. Gaybryn anyone?

*shrugs*

Yah Gabriel was the Arch-Angel that spoke to Muhammad. Gabriel is my name and what ever you do don't name him/her anything that has the word **** in it. You get insulted all through your childhood for being ****, not fun

I beleive they've already adressed the issue with the child being made fun of and decided in the long run a unique name serves to do a lot more good. I personally think it teaches a child the superficial nature of people as a whole who are willing to degrade someone merely because of a name aka building character.

Sephiroth. I know it's from Final Fantasy, but in 10 Years no one's going to know who Sephiroth was. If you don't name your kid that, I'll name mine... if I ever have one. ~_^

Why has no one suggested Kharaa? Think--it's foreign, doesn't necessarily mean 'alien', as said in that storyline thing, it means something in Mongolian.
Seriously though, what about Kevin?
If you wanted something a little more different, do something with an 'ofski' sound (Polish, or Russian). Jaikovskey? That would **** him off later in life.
Ender's a nice enough name. If you don't like it, try Alai, Bean, Bonzo (Bon-So), ah, what other names were there? Stanley?
Stanley's a funny name. Then when the kid sees Holes he'll be like OMG IM IN THE MOVIE I ROCK! Kids are crazy about that stuff. (Lol, Logan, show me your claws! Come on! You're Wolverine! It even says so in the movie!) Yelnats. Stanley.
Naming him racecar, mom, dad, Sees.. those are cool.
Bruce is a cool sounding name. Jet isn't good w/o the Li. Jackie is a girlish kind of name.
Anyone for Nikola? Tesla? Too bad the Red Alert days are over.

Oops, and I check out that baby center place to find the definition of Cyrus and Silas, They didn't have Silas, those nazis.

But...

This is ONE UGLY baby...I bet its Fam. It looks like its having a seizure of some sort. Maybe its epileptic and it started tripping out when its photo was taken.

Believe me, I've been to every last "baby names" website in existance. None have helped. I've even gone as far as downloading random name generators and generating and reading lists of thousands of names at a time. Why is it that boys are so much harder to name than girls? Girls are a snap. We already had at least 10 names ready had it been a girl.

Well, the middle name is going to be really unusual, if the first is going to be something conventional, like Griffin.

I'd really like a good word/name that encompasses everything about October. Probably sounds strange, but it's our favorite time of year (especially Halloween). Using "October" is out, and so is "Autumn". If it began with an "E" or an "I" somehow, that would be even better. I'm currently looking up the words Autumn and October in other languages.

My own name is Kevin, so that particular suggestion gets a huge no. I've always disliked my own name, and I can't stand it when parents name their kids after themselves.

How about a name from a fantasy book, like Dinin from the adventures of Drizzt? Add something original to it so it wouldn't be a straight ripoff.

found this here.

Autumn Equinox

Other names: Alban Elfed (Modern Druid), Gouel Sant-Mikael (Breton), Goel Myghal (Manx), Goeldheys (Cornish), Gwyl Fihangel (Welsh), La Fheile Michil (Modern Irish), Mabon, Harvesthome or First Fruits (Wiccan), Michaelmas or the Feast of St. Michael (Christian).

Gwyl, definately Gwyl. You could make the whole name Gwylfihangel and call him gwyl for short. There are some other good possibilities in there too.

Here's the entry for Haloween.

Samhain

Other names: Allantide (Cornish), All-Hallow's Tide ("Alhalwyn-tyd," Germanic), All Souls' Day (Christian), Calan Gaeaf or Hollantide (Welsh), Halloween (secular American), Kala-Goanv (Breton), Sauin (Manx), Samhain (Modern Irish), Samhiunn (Scottish Gaelic), Trinouxtion Samonii (Gaulish from the Coligny Calendar).

Allantide wouldn't be bad.
