I wanna name my son either Jobe, Jalen, Cyrus or Rune. Cyrus has a nice ring but my future wife wants all Js for her children (my name is John, her name is Jackie), but I am also fond of Jobe and Jalen, Rune just sounds badass.

Thanks, moultano! You saved me a bit more searching.

Hmmm... A modified form of the Germanic Alhalwyn-tyd would make a good potential middle name. "Allowyn" might be just the thing. Plus it just sounds like the more familiar 'Halloween' if it's examined or read aloud in a certain way. Griffin Allowyn Roberts. Not bad!

Still another 4 months to go, so I'm still open to more suggestions! ;)

(Huge thanks to everyone's suggestions so far. You've been more help than books, relatives, and websites have been.)

O.o
I'm a HELPER!

I think Allowyn has a girl sound to it, though. I like Griffin Allowyn Roberts, I guess. But think of the initials--GAR.
OMG I wish those were my initials!! Right now mine are... KQT.... not exactly the best.

Hmmm. The one that first came to mind was _almost_ already suggested...

Sebastien!

1. Sebasten Greek Male venerable, revered
2. Sebastian Greek Male Majestic
3. Sebastien Greek Male venerable, revered

Or how about Dallion?

Cool suggestions that were posted:
Xander (nickname for Alexander?) <-= very hot name
Xavier

Guess I like X men!

Good luck to you

... and just what is so bad about having the first name start with an R?

first of all - CONGRATULATIONS AND KUDOS!

second. DO NOT NAME HIM RICHARD!! a common abbreviation for richard is '****', and you dont want your sons name to be ****, though **** Roberts has a certain ring, dont you think? its a joke. hhahhahah. no? ah well.

my suggestion - Kishore or Jhamat.

Kali or Kahn.

Modifications work too. Kaylee Roberts seems like a fairly unique name for a female to me, and sounds just fine.

Evanesce/Evanescence/etc... would be better if there wasn't a band named that, but no one will remember them in 10 years either :> it means "tending to vanish like vapor" in english, and the latin root, evanesco, also means "to pass away," which is a little morbid, but autumn related. And, of course, lazy and traditional people could call him Evan...

By the way, for anyone that wanted to know, the final decision was:

Griffin Jack Roberts

To paraphrase the proud soon-to-be-father - "It's very piratey"
