Actually ... the version I release will probably be either a bright red or blue, or a nice dark grey/black colour.

Sorry this is taking so long, chaps, but real world things are getting in the way.

I think I may replace the clip with a shell-insertion thingy, so it can be used for a shotty. Chances are I'll do it both ways.

(edit: I'm starting to feel like I <i>can't</i> get away with leaving the trigger out. Ho-hum)

I love the skin the way it is now. I think it's great that you are releasing it as a shotty too, just what I need.

Anyways, the green and silver/black looks great. Bright red, or blue? If anything, make it a dark black/silver, a lot darker than the one in that Ghost picture.

The only problem I'd have with that is the C-20 was a canister rifle. It was single-shot, and it fired a small charge of explosives. I think this would work better as a grenade launcher. Think about it.
  • SnO0PySnO0Py Join Date: 2003-02-27 Member: 14092Members
Yes but the c-20 was long range, the gl really...isn't. Who cares about accuracy, just make it a shotgun.

I find compliments hard to take from people who dis me in other threads. Also, comments like "wow thats way better then the other c20' (Shloom) and "Even the skin on the other C-20 is not really good" (Murder Wink) in the other c-20's thread make me wonder why I even bother trying to make a contribution to this forum.

    (1) Mine is consciously low-poly. There was a much nicer version of it once, which I completely remade because it stood at 2000 polies. Well worth the effort, it would seem. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    (2) The skin is hardly complete.

    (3) I'm rapidly losing interest in making things for you lot.

a prime example of how a few, can ruin something for the whole group

souris, these are only minimal opinions, i like your work, and in as manly as can be, you...

everyone needs to be reminded of the "what i make, is what you get" scenario... which we don't want because there is no imput, i am glad for one that you listen to what we have to say, but it also works both ways.... we give imput, and you tell us how braindead we are... suits me just fine, because i accept my braindead status with joy... others dno't enjoy it as much as i do....

AKa, sours, please don't stop, your doing awsome

there are more silet supporters than there are protesters.

(this post was meant to make souris feel good about himself, sorry if i didn't do that... if all else fails, get some porn ;P)

I hope you don't stop making stuff. I really like this weapon and can't wait to see it in game (which, imo, is the only place you can truly judge a model and weapon, hell, in dod there were some great looking models that i thought looked terrible in game).

    Keep up the great work.

I'm not one to talk all that much unless i'm the one posting <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

Still, I can understand how you feel Souris. The ones who want these works of art that the few modelers we have in this community are the ones who also complain about how it looks all the time. Many a modeller are getting upset about how there are many demands, yet few to provide. Even worse, they degrade others work if their ideal model/skin is not met as well.

Just remember though, for every single loud mouthed requester and perfectionist of others work, theres at least 5 who wait patiently for the model, and silently praise you, perhaps without you ever knowing.

I know that I myself wish to take up modelling, but I don't have the time, and when I HAVE tried, I've become frustrated, because I wish it to be like when I hold a pencil in my hand, and have a blank sheet of paper infront of me, quick, simple, and workable, but, the pallete you work with is different than mine, and after my attempts to model, it makes a person respect the modellers out there even more.

Don't allow the "gimme gimmes" to ruin the experience for yourself and the others who DO appreciate what you've done and are willing to do for us.

I formally thank you for the models you've given out to us, and the almost certain other brilliant works of art that will come in the future.

Don't let it discourage you Souris, it's impossible to make everyone happy. While some suggestions might help, it’s your model and ultimately your decision on how it will be done.

Why do you worry about what a few people post? If you simply gave up just because one or two people posted like that you wouldn't be going anywhere. Sorry if what I said offended you, but seriously you should listen to the bigger voice, the majoritity of posts not just 1 or 2 posts.

Souris, one thing, if you want to be someone who creates things for a community (eg. modeler, skinner etc) you will have to face criticism.

You have to look it in the face and say, hey I'm not scared of you. If you cry because of that, you won't be going anywhere.
  • JimJim Join Date: 2002-11-26 Member: 9989Members
it's not the constructive criticism he doesnt like (i think D: )
  • espwillyespwilly Join Date: 2003-04-19 Member: 15642Members
i wish i could model under 1000 polies for a gun!!! low poly modelling is just as hard as detailed modelling because you have to criticise (i hope i spelt that right) yourself much more.... i think....
  • JamilJamil Join Date: 2002-11-02 Member: 4829Members
You're a late bloomer, my french mouse compadre. Vent some frustration once in a while, and things will be fine. What other purpose do you think the losers have on here? So they can jizz all over our models? You'll get used to it. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

There will always be people better than you at modelling. Especially the people who've gone to school to learn it. Don't be discouraged because someone does better work than you, because you get better with every model you make.
