yea, well what do you do when you're gonna run the same map but the aliens lost? I just reload the map, but there must be a better way.
yeah i would like to see a pub ff variable. Of course it would be best on a passworded server where you know all the players but I'm sure there will be ways to monitor activity like the TK counter plugin that I've seen in DoD and cs

Greg... then don't play on the ones that have it enabled. This isn't a thread about turning FF on for all NS servers, it's about giving the server op the ability to turn it on for their given server, if they choose that they want to play with FF, but don't want to have to deal with the hassles of setting up a tourney-mode server. Making FF a serverside variable, defaulted to off.

And a second variable like ff_buildings that works the same way but lets players damage buildings, turrets damage buildings, sieges damage buildings, etc, so that we could have the option of tweaking our own personal preference of FF to where it works best.

Voogru i think you missed the point of the cvar, and now that you said that i will specifically request that tournament mode have FF locked on and none togglable. It completly defeats the point of tourni mode. As it was designed for clan use and not for you to go in and play a pub that you have to say start at the beginning of.
I'm all for FF, although wouldnt FF be mainly a marines disadvantage? I like the idea of: FF off, FF on and FF Players Only.
It's a shame that in every coding you have to account for lamers abusing a feature... *rubs his magic genie bottle and wishes for that to never happen again*
If FF would be enabled, I could see lamers knifing their own buildings... Or aliens munching their hives, or getting accidentally killed by each other while rushing enemy RTs.
In competitive match play ff has allways been on. I really enjoy it in matches/scrims and I would be really opset if it was removed, but I can solidly say that it has no place in pubs. Unless you have a specific pub that is passworded or something with a large leet following that can handle it. And guys it is allready a variable if it wasn't then it couldn't be enabled for match play.
Please don't put ff on public servers, I can imagine the chaos, of skulks killing eachother more than the enemy. It is really easy to hit your fellow skulk when you have a 2 vs 1 combat situation, and ex. 2 skulks kill a marine guarding a resource, 1 skulk is left with 10hp, then they chew the resource down the other one accidentally bites the other when the res is destroyed(It is really common (atleast in our clan)) the skulk dies, and it turns in to the flame-fest of the year.
Just keep it the way it is, ff on in tournament mode, off in public.

Tseepra.. so don't play on a server with FF On. This isn't discussing if it should be on by default, as it won't. It's asking Flayra to give us the OPTION to turn on FF, without the tourney-mode hassles. It's for players who can handle it.
Would also provide a smoother transition between pub play and tourney mode, learning to watch your fire more effectively, while not having to worry about some idiot knifing down the IP while you're out of base, because the Comm wouldn't drop him a shotgun.

but you just now if its on by default, or if its on and their is no responsible server admin, it will just be abused.

Its easy to justify its non-existence though... nanode bullets disperse if they touch nanode armor... alien bio-nodes just pass through one another...
