Is it bad to keep attacking the same guy? I've been attacking this guy over and over again, I've already taken over 1100 gold off him with my army of 4 guys, (yes 4 guys! I'm that popular here). So far I've prevented him from getting 2000 gold, so he can't upgrade and get revenge!
I've found that the more people you 'click', the better your chances of survival if someone decides to attack you because apparently you get some help defending.

What's NSArmy saving up for right now? Because $57,000+ is a target that I'm sure is alluring to many. Whoever has the account info I think should consider buying something?
I've 3 elves in my army at the moment, and after about an hour and a half, I had 4 attacks, so I tried attacking someone with 9 soldiers and about $20,000. Failed to get anything, or inflict casualties (also recieved no casualties, though I did get about 300 damage... Ha! My faithful soldiers inflicted 350 some damge!)
What were your beginning moves? Should I try attacking less rich but also less powerful players to start out?

When I started out, I found it best to attack any Human army that had a stockpile of money who was about 10 levels higher than me. Humans get 25% more income, but inherently lack any combat bonuses.
I'm also playing as Dwarf (25% offensive bonus), so you might want to use a lower number than "10 levels higher" since you're playing as Elf.
Most importantly - let your turns build up. You can use up to 15 attacks per battle, so I find it best to let them build up to 60 or so and then do several 15-attack battles against a number of different wealthy players.
Finally, spend your money! Having a lot of money stockpiled while you wait for more turns really only makes you a target. My turn doesn't end for the day unless I've got less than 10,000 gold left.

Apparently, <b>humans</b> tend to be the weakest at defending and they have a money bonus, so it doesn't hurt to attack humans. <i>Yes I'm a <b>racist</b>, so sue me <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--></i>.
Dwarves are the best at attacking, and Elves are the best at defending, I wouldn't attack any elves unless you feel you are strong enough.
I've found that repeated attacks on the same person also weaken them to successive attacks. I've been like a vampire to one particular guy, taken almost 1500 now off him and he must feel like I'm bullying him. I won't let him get 2000 gold! You can find the last guy you attacked in the <i>Attack Log</i>, it's really useful that page!

Okay... info that I would have Liked To Know: The amount of gold stolen from you is based on the number of attacks used... AND the amount of money you have invested in your army. If you just save up like crazy at low levels, even successful attackers will only take a fraction of your cash.. instead of over 2/3, like with me. I upgraded through weapons a LOT to keep my cash-on-hand low. BAD IDEA, unless that's what you're going for. Though it's very effective as a Dwarf to buy nothing but offense upgrades, offense mercs, and TRAIN YOUR SOLDIERS. In dwarfish sense, for attack. They can't do the opposite job (trained for attack cannot defend if you are attacked) but they are 250% as effective in the job they ARE trained for. So two guys attacking, trained in attack, count as *five* compared to the default.
Weapons purchased from the armory will break, if you are attacked when you have no money. Siege Upgrades will never break. Ever.
Spy Level is best saved until you have around 300 soldiers. The first time you buy, you can then dump 90K into spy levels, buying them at 3K each (ending with level 30 spies, in this case). If you buy incrementally, the price for each level rises. A LOT. It's better to jump from Level 1 spies to whatever your target level is, in one fell swoop.
Armory prices DO change, but rarely. Knives used to cost 1000 each... due to high-level players buying TONS of knives (they were the most cost-effective offensive weapon upgrade, at that time) and having insane attack bonuses... know at least two players who purchased over a thousand knives each, and one who bought three thousand. Do the math for yourself, and buy the most cost-effective upgrade you can afford.

The up side to being pointy-eared *ss-whoop in a can is that if anyone attacks me, I can normally hit them back. Take for example this evening... some joker hit me for 50K. Attacked him, took ALL his money (only 11K, but still.. principle), then attacked his Commander and took all *his* money, then attacked the Commander's Commander and took all HIS money.
Ended up with 160K, and a sense of accomplishment.
Then spent it all on more offense upgrades so I'll be able to take on ANYONE who attacks me, and take all my freaking money BACK. Plus more, if I get there when they're still hitting other people to make a purchase.. and then make the same purchase myself, with their hard-attacked cash. MUAHAHAHA!
Currently doing around 80,000 damage in an average attack... 90K+ against a weak foe. Anyone else? Or more forthrightly... Comprox, need anyone to dish out a little beatdown on the people besides me who've been taking your lunch money? ^_^
Attacks on me have finally dropped drastically, I had 3 today only taking 40K total.
