So far it seems to run the best on Slackware but that does sound like a specific file problem. I tried reinstalling, but got the same error, so i reinstalled without the patch and everything worked fine. Then i kept the models from the first install and installed the rest of the patch, and now it gets <i>FATAL ERROR (shutting down): Mod_NumForName: models/player/soldier/soldier.mdl not found. </i><!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif'><!--endemo-->
Ive spent a little too much time trying to get mandrake to work properly to change over at the moment, but maybe if all else fails ill change over.

Don't use "unzip -a", or whatever your unzip's "convert end-of-line characters" flag is. That's the cause of many problems. Lots of unzippers mistakenly determine that the binaries in the patch are text files, and bugger them up good.

Ok, i redownloaded all of the files for my ns server, but now it can't "find" the maps.
