Is the Unity 2018 upgrade finished yet?

It has been a long while since the planned Unity 2018 upgrade of the original Subnautica.

I might have missed this, but has there been any news on this recently? Is it finished and if not, is there an estimated time frame?

The "Big Little Update" in late 2019 says it includes "upgrade to Unity 2018.2". There have been some issues, especially for Mac users, but some of these may be better now. There is/was an issue where undocking the seamoth made the player unable to pass through cut doors and other small openings, but this is fixed after save/reload(until the next time you undock).

Thanks for the info. I noticed another update in 2 months ago (August). Was this the finishing touch for the Unity 2018 upgrade or are there more to come?

They have 2 companies helping them improve the game to get it to work on Nintendo Switch, and they expect this will lead to improvements on all platforms.

Hey narf, did you see the new Terraforming mod? Made a thread about it, figured some would like to try it out.

Terraforming mod seems cool. I didn't terraform much, mostly because I didn't like the "dirt" it placed, but I may use that if a base isn't able to fit the terrain.

The Experimental branch says it is version:

Initialize engine version: 2019.2.17f1 (441)

It is doing well. Some glitches here and there, but gets updated most everyday.
