Another thanks and a bump from me! I love spending time making ringtones out of games I enjoy. I cannot excuse myself for the blasphemy of not having already done this with NS2, but you've made it extremely easy for me to atone for this sin. Thanks, SamusDroid!
Yeah a while ago for a little video project (tricking sampler) I was working on, I really wanted a good audio file of "my shrink says I need an outlet for my aggression", but I ended up only being able to get a really distorted version from some old NS1 files.
If anyones interested, here's what I made (never released to general public or used for anything other than my own satisfaction :P)

There must be a corrolation between skill in ns2 and being able to do backflips. I have always wanted to do them, but can never roll far enough.
From my perspective UWE has been trying to both with what little resources they have given to the game. They don't have an AAA budget, let alone an indie game budget. They have the budget of a game that has been out 6 years. I want to say, don't half ass two things, whole ass one thing. I just don't think they have the resources to do it. Unlike many of the people on the forums, I guess I am just happy they are at least trying even though I may not like what they end up doing.

Dbl post, sorry. IPad is a bitch.
I just blame my lack of back flips on my height. Otherwise, I could probably fly. I'll let you know how that works out... just need to cut about a foot of my legs.
Don't ever ''get ban''.

Very off topic, but I don't know if that would be effective.

Height is nothing. One of the best trickers I know is like 6 foot 5 or something, he's huge. If your technique is correct you will land it send me a vid, tips for tricks are free from me :P
@SamusDroid are you able to procure the skulk walljumping sounds? If you could, I would be infinitely grateful It's for a little project that we will all benefit from

Was just looking up this thread for someone, so figured I would bump it because it is awesome.

Go here and download this, then go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Natural Selection 2\ns2\sound
open up the .FSB you want and scour through.
You can play the sounds directly from fsbextractor to make sure they are what you want.
Related note:
I also recommend getting fmod ex designer from the website (it's a legacy editor) and just double click on the .fev files that are in the folder to learn the folder structure and correct naming.
Oh what? so you are saying the sounds are no longer contained withen the bank/fsb/fev files but something entirely different :O? Curious though since those NS1 sounds are different names to the ones that come with the actual game or with the actual source-code from NS1 including being in mp3 format instead of .wav format and single/mono channel in some cases (not really a problem when in use for a phone)
That's actually weird because i've been able to extract just about all the needed sounds :S thought i might not be reaching into the furtherest reaches of what is capable
Bump for appreciation, because I had to find this again
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to play Natural Selection 2. The gameplay is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of military strategy and advanced mathematics you won't even win a single game. Theres also the game's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into the game. The maps and artwork draw heavily from Riddley Scott's Alien franchise, for instance. The players understand this stuff, they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depth of the game, to realise that it's not just great, that it also says something about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Natural Selection 2 truly ARE idiots. of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in the Marines' existential catchphrase "how do I get to be so good", which itself is a cryptic reference to the high degree of intelligence required to play the game as intended. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion when spectating a game. What fools... how I pity them.
And, yes, by the way, i DO have a Fade tatoo. And no, you cannot see it. it's for the ladies' eyes only, and even then they have to demonstrate that they are within 50 hive skill points of my own (preferable lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid.
It's 2019 and I still use ns1_button5 as my notification.
Do not recommend distress beacon anymore. You'll either wake up pissed or answer phones with angry voice.

Many years later of using distress.as.ring.and.alarm.tone. mentalb stability has lowered. I am now hairtriggered to a berserker state at all times. I hear footsteps
