Recovering an accidentally deleted save?

Long story short, accidentally deleted a save file. Used a recovery tool to get the files back (I think I got it all, hopefully.)

Tried multiple methods to get the game to recognize the files. No luck, need help.

You need these 4 files (you can swap the screenshot.jpg out with a blank file of the same name or another picture, but that file does have to exist)

gameinfo.json
global-objects.bin
scene-objects.bin
screenshot.jpg <- that's the little thumbnail showing you a preview of the save when you go to load

Probably what's happening is you haven't recovered all of your cache, clearing it might help (just move the files instead of deleting them to be safe).

well, then I'm out of luck. Darn.

SSD has trim enabled, and its' been a few days, there's no global-objects or gameinfo file. theres just scene-objects....

SSDs do not lend well to file recovery for that reason. Most immediately TRIM upon delete (in my experience). Which is unfortunate, because Subnautica doesn't run well on HDDs. There is a "mod" to back up your saved game file here as well as an AutoSave mod here (to auto-save at configured intervals, with customizable options, see description) and a QuickSave mod here (press F5 to save).

Indeed; I only mentioned those for use with future saves.
