Please Don't move this to the Bug forum because its useless and no one looks there! Whenever I launch subnautica it launches to a black screen and stays there. I can see the mouse and hear the audio but thats all. I've reinstalled it many times even tried the experimental. I've even tried reinstalling visual C++ with no luck. And My graphics card drivers are up to date. I'm on an asus rog laptop with an intel i7-4720HQ and a Nvidia GTX 965m and 8Gb of ram. I'm on the latest version of windows 10 with directX 12. Please Help!!

Laptop? I'm pretty sure laptops cant run Subnautica. Last time I tried on a friends laptop the game was running in the 0-10 fps range. I have also encountered somthing where the title screen was green when I tried to play on a Mac Mini. Your computer might not be powerful enough to support the game. Try looking at the minimum system specs Steam gives you.

My laptop is a gaming laptop it plays GTA V Highest settings with no lag over 120 FPS. I’ve played subnautica so many times on this laptop with no lag and way over 120 FPS on highest settings I’ve just been reloading my pc a lot and haven’t played it in a while. My specs exceed the recommend requirements.

Is this a new problem or did you just purchase the game?

As if laptops exist in a vacuum all with low end specs. Wrong.

OP, GTX 965m is pretty craptastic, with that being said it should "run" at least, so I'm curious what the issue is.

Actually, it's around the ballpark of my R7 360. So, while not being anything to write home about, I wouldn't say it's craptastic. More like a solid low end of the mid range performer?

OP, 1) be sure you've tried restarting your PC (you have to mention it nowadays as PCs don't crash regularly like they used to, and Windows 10 doesn't actually shut down when it shuts down, it just logs the user off and hibernates the OS) and then make sure your drivers are up to date, you can also try reverting them. Make sure Windows is up to date as well.

My 3 year old MSI GE60 laptop runs Subnautica fine at 1080p (30-40fps). It certainly isn't "awesome", but it works fine with a few hitches.

P.S. An SSD helps tremendously with reducing hitching. Although, UWE has improved stuff recently (trying to fix XBox) so this isn't as big a deal as it once was.

I've restarted many times and updated graphics drivers even used an older graphic driver

Can you upload and post a link to your %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Steam\steamapps\common\Subnautica\Subnautica_Data\output_log.txt ?

    Please don't double-thread, it's awfully confusing.
