Subnautica won't open!

I decided to play Subnautica on my oculus rift. Everything worked completely fine. I was in the "stable" version of the game, and was not experiencing any glitches (excluding one where I got trapped under a boulder as my oxygen ran out, which scared the hell out of me in vr, it was like 108 hours). Afterwards, I took a break because the headset was too tight on my head, and I shut down Subnautica. After a while, I attempted to open up Subnautica in desktop mode.
From that point on, I never saw the menu again.
Every time I opened the game, it would either close on me instantly after the icon appears on the taskbar, get stuck in an infinite black screen with the loading symbol on the mouse, or it would get stuck with the subnautica music and the subnautica mouse image.
I sat there for 45 minutes waiting to see if the black screens would change. Nothing. Any time I clicked, boom, "subnautica.exe has stopped responding".
I tried going back in vr, didn't work.
I tried debugging and deleting microsoft visual studios 2015 (whatever it was called) because the game said it was causing problems, didn't work
I uninstalled Subnautica 3 times,
deleted steam vr,
deleted Oculus and unplugged my rift from the computer,
deleted steam which subsquently deleted all of my games,
verified the integrity of Subnautica's files 2 times,
scanned Subnautica and my computer for viruses,
made sure EVERYTHING was updated, INCLUDING my drivers,
and still nothing!
This started at like 1:00 pm and now it's 11:05. I'm tired and pissed because I've tried everything I could think of.
I've asked steam for a refund, because I might as well get my money back, but I'm putting this up in case I could find a way to fix it.
Please, HELP ME.
Also, I have an Nvidia Gtx 1060 as a video card in my computer, 3gb I think.

The problem isn't that it's stuck in vr mode, it'll freak out if I try to play it at all, be it in vr and desktop.
Are your other games not having any issues?
