Drawpad - a pda attachment that allows for the user to draw!, can print out copies of the drawing for 1 creepvine sample. can be used to make a "research" room of various drawings of creatures, biomes and much more. May be able to make a makeshift map with this as well (draw your own, no import)
Taming - being able to have a rabbit ray follow you around as a cosmetic "pet" would be pretty cute
Jukebox - allows for various songs to be played such as 80's classics, the subnautica soundtrack, and anything else that could be used.
Permanent stalker taming - should you obtain a stalker egg, you should be able to permanently tame it, if you care for it. this should require much more than a containment tank. maybe an upgrade, like the modification station for the moon pool.
Breeding - its no suprise that the alien containment tank is somewhat useless, unless its being used as a permanent source of food. this upgrade will make the tank its applied to only carry one species of fish. Because of this, the breeding for certain stats (meat content, water content, decomposition resistance, etc.) This will allow for players to make their food source even more efficient (more food/water from one fish for example). this could also allow for certain traits to be altered, such as colour, shape, size of fins, etc (this will be purely cosmetic and will have no effect on gameplay)

but im not saying its completely useless. but its only good use is food (and the ladder thing, but instant teleport is better imo)
Eh, you can grow and harvest creepvine and other useful plants if you plant creepvine seeds etc, also it is the only way to hatch eggs you find in confinement.
