Anyone else find the Fabricator categories cluttered, overwhelming, and not initially easy to find things you want to craft? Can we clear things up a bit? Like this maybe:
- Sustenance
- First Aid Kit
- Water
- Food
- Cured Food
- Resources
- Materials
- Titanium
- Glass
- Silicone Rubber
- Magnesium
- Fiber Mesh
- Advanced Materials
- Copper Wire
- Synthetic Fibers
- Enameled Glass
- Titanium Ingot
- Plasteel Ingot
- Compounds
- Lubricant
- Bleach
- Aerogel
- Benzene
- Hydrochloric Acid
- Polyaniline
- Uranium
- Electronics
- Battery
- Power Cell
- Computer Chip
- Wiring Kit
- Advanced Wiring Kit
- Reactor Rod
- Materials
- Equipment
- Radiation Suit
- Fins
- Rebreather
- O2 Tank
- Compass
- Thermometer
- Tools
- Knife
- Air Bladder
- Dive Reel
- Flare
- Lightstick
- Flashlight
- Advanced Tools
- Repair Tool
- Habitat Builder
- Laser Cutter
- Stasis Rifle
- Propulsion Cannon
- Terraformer
- Transfuser
- Deployables
- Beacon
- Waterproof Locker
- Seaglide
- Mobile Vehicle Bay
- Gravsphere
No list has more than 7 objects, generally the Advanced categories are less frequently crafted, the "Personal" category was removed and it's sub-items placed at the root for less useless clicking.
Additionally, would love to see a Favorites/Frequently Crafted section, Hotkeys for quicker crafting, and badges/icons next to each category showing how many items in a category can currently be crafted.

I agree with this point especially- for things you fabricate frequently, you'll want to be able to fabricate them as fast as possible! I think that your main point about fabricating taking a while is a problem too, but I think there are some more pressing issues that the devs want to address first.
Might want to use another word besides 'advanced' tools for such basic necessities as repairing, cutting, and habitat building. Maybe put those three in basic tools?
You just don't want the cautious players spending 110 hours without touching the 'advanced' section (about like a 'normal' computer user treats the command prompt).
