As of right now the game loads fine. you get into the game and start playing (doesn't matter if you load a game or start new) after a few minutes of game play the items and fishes despawn and your world is messed up. sometimes the game wont save then when you quit and all you see is "loading" in the main menu until you close the game using other methods. this started happening recently like just before xmas. if you clean your cash sometimes this helps, other times you end up with only one little square surface area and the terrain stops generating all there is outside is water. I have also tried to re download subnautica. still the same problems. I'm ataching all my save files so that you can check them out. slot0003 and slot0005 are the games that have the error i have started up my survival game wich is slot0001 or slot0002.
since i can't atach a file i will link the save files rar. SavedGames.rar

@Obraxis how feasible would it be to release a Subnautica experimental version set to 'very verbose' mode? Or is that even possible with Subnautica? (I honestly have no idea, however I know with the FreeSpace Open project sometimes they'll cook up a special build to try to track down issues.)
I had this after I dived deep, when I came back up there was nothing but water and by bases were just floating in the sea. Last night (fourth attempt) it appeared to be fixed though.
"FreSpace Open project... Now that's a name I've not heard in a long time."
Frequent the Hard Light Forums at all? What was your username? Mine's jr2 over there.
PSA: Current FSO ver 3.7.4, latest FSO Installer and launcher can be had by going to the nav bar on the top-right of the forums under "Installing Freespace Open", and the HLP Discord server can be joined by looking under the HLP drop down menu from the left side of the same nav bar.
As with SeanCasey96, the terrain and everything else doesn't load, it doesn't save properly, and leaving main menu to exit causes a crash. not had many crashes in-game recently though.
Some interesting screenies here. The scanner room which ceases to work properly ages ago shows no map on the table, but the camera has a distant view of the terrain, miles away from the scanner room.
Finally the base in 'midair'.

Has anybody found a workaround?
Created a new save file and played around a bit.
I can't recreate any failure to load terrain or player-modified changes.
Can you be more specific?
Started playing again (experimental) after a while a few days ago made new game, got less than 2 hours in, wrecks vanished contents still there, life pods not present at some locations, then terrain started to fail to load, save games could not be saved, return to menu and it menu gets stuck loading forever.
So I started a new save game. Some time shortly after the explosion heading out past the creep vines... pretty much the same issue, but sooner, and this time I noticed some signs in the lead up, fish disappeared, rocks and other spawned/interactive items disappeared (or perhaps more accurately, failed to appear), etc...
So I removed save game directories entirely and started a definitely fresh save game, also verified game cache, restarted computer, etc...
Now basically every game I start sometime generally around the explosion or slightly before fish disappear, spawnables like limestone rocks disappear, game won't save, return to menu gets menu stuck in loading. Pretty sure if I kept swimming further out the wrecks and terrain would start to fail to load again too. And I have NOT seen that safe shallows life pod (the one you tend to start fairly near), period, since I started playing experimental again lately despite playing at least two games that gave me it's map marker. Reloading (the last time it could be saved) seems to get fish and stuff back, briefly only, since once it happens it seems like things go to pieces pretty quickly after any reload attempt.
I have restarted a number of times. This thing happened eventually every time and seemingly a bit sooner/worse every time. Only thing I think left worth trying right now is a complete game wipe and reinstall from scratch.
