Loss of control in VR with Vive

Good afternoon,

I bought subnautica last night and was looking forward to playing it in VR. As soon as I got into the game I was spinning and could not stop. I did some troubleshooting last night, including unplugging everything but my headset and controller, but that did not work. I am using the Steam controller, so I'm probably a fringe case. I have not had a chance to try an Xbox controller. Both KB+M and the Steam controller work fine outside of VR. Unfortunately I am not interested in playing this game outside of VR. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'd like to enjoy this game. Unfortunately if I cannot get the issue resolved I may have to refund it.

-edit- I forgot to mention that I have tried both the stable version and experimental version on Steam. Also, today there is no spinning but I am constantly moving to the left and have no control over my character.

I've got the same problem, but I use a PS4 controller and DS4Windows. Is there anyone playing with an actual Xbox controller? Does it work normally?

I ran into this as my xbox controller ran out of battery. Swapped the batteries and it worked. So most likely it has something to do with the controller.

This problem has been driving me crazy all day.

I've tried a wired Xbox controller and a Dualshock 4 controller with DS4W. They both have the same spinning.

I'm positive I have no other controllers or peripherals connected. Maybe the xinput drivers need to be reinstalled?

EDIT: I've discovered my problem! Disabling the VJoy Virtual Joystick driver stopped the spinning.

For those of you who might have the same problem, go to your Device Manager in the Windows Control Panel.
The driver is located under the category Human Interface Devices. Right click the driver and select Disable.
Of course, this only applies if you're using Windows and have previously installed vJoy.

that is only a fix from a program I've never heard of. Is there a fix for DS4Windows, or do I need to buy an xbox controller??

Just checked back in here. It's rather late, but I'll try this as soon as possible and report back if it worked.

*edit* Well, I checked it out right away anyway. It works! Thanks so much for the assist. I only wish the Devs had jumped in, but hey I'm not too surprised the VR crowd has to fend for itself. I hope this helps others when they search for the problem.

Hmm. This does seem to be a bug, though, so did anybody report it?

EDIT: I mean with F8, not here, of course.

Unity itself has issues with some webcams and joysticks on machines, especially Logitech & Joystick drivers it seems. We've had people have success unplugging all their other USB devices, rebooting and then launching Subnautica. We're hopeful Unity will address these issues in time.
