[Crash upon launch]

So I recently bought Subnautica on PC. I had it on Xbone and absolutely loved it; anyway, A few days ago I was having no problems whatsoever, really enjoying the PRAWN update. But since yesterday, I have been unable to start the game from the menu. When I launch it in windowed mode it get shrunk to either a single line (like in the attached picture) or a box that is half as wide as it is tall. If I press Alt+Enter to go fullscreen, it freezes after the steam notification about big picture shows up. After that, all that happens is (when SteamVR did work) the menu would show up on the Oculus Rift, water moving and all. I couldn't however, select anything. I have tried everything from reinstalling Subnautica and Steam to hard resets. Switching to the Experimental build yields no differences. All I haven't tried yet is a factory reset of my computer, which I would prefer to not do as I have over 350 GB of games on here. Anything I can do?
Specs:
Radeon RX GFX 460
Windows 10
HP Pavillion 500-164 (stock everything aside from GPU)
Monitor: DV-I/DisplayPort-to-HDMI connected 1920 x 1080 TV.
Any guesses?

It has rendered my game completely unplayable and there's nothing I can do.
Nobody knows what to do. Not even the devs.
Do you use any Firewall program? If so, make sure you allow your game to get trough as it asks some material to be downloaded as you start the game. If Firewall denies this game will crash. After I allowed game to go online, everything was working fine.
no dice at all
but nobody has tried factory resets correct?
