The only reason im saying no is because the PC should be the devs number 1 priority at the moment, but after the final game is released for PC i would love to see a console version of the game.
This game will already go to the Xbox One. Depending how it fares it seems it might also release one the PS4 as well. Im getting this info from the Trello boards, so as you can see its already in the plans
What is the problem for releasing the for consoles? That's good news for all console gamer because not every body have the money for a high end gaming pc.

Hmm is the "high end PC" card being pulled again? I could slap together a decent rig for a bit more of the price of a PS4/Xbone and it would be a lot more powerful. I could even undercut the price of them and still have a more powerful rig than a console. Heck even a 4-5 year old rig can still produce better graphical fidelity than the latest consoles
Howcome it's always the "overpriced, hugely expensive, top of the line rigs" being compared to the latest consoles. Of course those would be vastly more expensive, however those would also be exponentially more powerful. The fact is, we don't actually need that amount of money to outshine consoles.
But this entire thing is silly anyway, games are more about gameplay/content than graphics. However, consoles do also hold back technological development, with their 6-7 year development cycle. PC's are constantly being developed, while consoles always stand still during their lifespan. PC's don't have any competition from them in terms of raw power so their development isn't as fast as it could be. Another big influence on that is because the biggest publishers develop both for consoles and PC. And because consoles will eventually age they have to cut back on features, impacting the PC port usually (PC market is also huge, but just an, I guess 25-30% vs ALL 3 consoles?). Not even mentioning that every time a new console comes out, they are already outdated compared to the midrange PC's. Quite annoying IMHO...
Sorry, I'm just tired of that console vs PC bit, based on ie: reasonably priced cars vs super cars, at least compare similar products
Besides I'm pretty sure people buy consoles for the couch gaming factor (and certain game titles) more so than graphics compared to PC -steam machine/steam controller/steam link, watch out now consoles!
What is the problem for releasing the for consoles?
I am all for console based Subnautica. For now during early development, I'm just worried they would have a lot of performance issues. Even though the new consoles are pretty powerful, they are still basically old PC's. Forget Xbox360/PS3, I'm fairly certain it would drown in Subnautica... he he he...
And because of that huge amount of effort on the dev's part (timesink), I think your poll could make do with an "after release" option. (cannot be edited though........ @Comprox )
So yeah I'll vote, but for after release. Didn't it already run on Xbone in a barebone test version @Obraxis ?
Games have constantly pissed me off by the fact thet they release only to a certain game base (PC, XBOX, PS, Wii...). When a good game (like GTA, or Rocket League, or Journey) releases, many gamers absolutely want to play it and can't because they don't have the right material. That was my case with Subnautica for a while: ever since I heard of it, it became my favorite game ever made, and I immediately bought it, but I was gutted when I saw that my PC wan't good enough. However, I do have an XBOX ONE, and I've been waiting ages for Subnautica to release to it. Now, it's officially coming out, and I'm so hyped!
My point is, that I'm so sick of this "console vs computer" shit. It's just awesome when a game releases to a wide variety of game bases.
When i saw markiplier play subnautica i really wanted to play it then i saw it was only available on pc i hated myself so i kept having dreams about me running downstairs in the morning throwing out any game that was played before and shoving subnautica in the ps4 so i really want consle edition

for that which does not want subnautica on PS4 and XBOX ONE's too bad for you will not be like this with subnautica who agree with me comment has already waited too long the forest since 2014
At 4:36 is where I feel most games are made to market too and the serious gamer games are a thing of the past. And I wonder if my next favorite game will fall victim to this video points.
I think it would be great to implement Xbox and Ps for subnautica. I'm saying this because I know alot of people that don't have great computers, so there game is slow. But because all consoles have the same power, more people would be able to enjoy the game to it's fullest
I find it really stupid how people are voting no "just to prioritize the PC version before consoles." Have you ever thought for a second that the OP never once said "before the PC version is finished."
This is a good idea, though. My computer loads way worse than the Playstation.

I extremely agree!! As always PC-people cant able to share a piece of cake with other players!! They only want their release first!! I think SN on consoles will run really good and with the X1 dev kit SN could be made easier!! we re waiting for it!
The truth is, we have a lot of people playing Subnautica on very low-end hardware on PC. MUCH more than people realize. When I say low-end, I mean the dreaded 'integrated graphics'.
These players even on minimum settings are having a bad experience. Yes, we can say 'you should have read the minimum requirements' but a lot of times, people want to enjoy the game but simply cant afford to upgrade. While we will always point towards our minimum specs as a baseline, we want people to enjoy the game as much as possible on their hardware.
A number of these people DO have a console of some kind. Developing for the XboxOne's lower-than-average PC specs is actually helping the PC version by making us do a lot of optimization so the game runs faster, which then feeds back directly to the PC version. We're nearing the time where a lot of these are going to start making their way into the PC version so everyone will benefit, PC and console alike.
Game development on PC and console doesn't have to be adversarial. Modern game development can be very complimentary with the different platforms.

It's nice to see devs who are not just motivated by money. You are absolutely right when you say that there are a lot of times when people simply cannot afford a better system yet still wish to enjoy the game, and it's great knowing you guys are doing all you can to allow low spec users to be able to play.
If you bring ou the game for xbox one and playstation 4, you will make more money to fund the game, so then you will be able to make the game even better. And I will buy subnautica for the ps4 DEFINITELY!!! because I absolutely LOVE this game with heart and soul.
Giving everybody the opportunity to play is a great thing. More diversity in the community is a great thing to, by having Subnautica on more platforms you would be bringing both those things
By adding more possibilities to a game and to more playable systems, it will make more and more consumers happier to have a game that is as good as Subnautica. I love this game and by adding it to more systems it would make me happier for the people who don't have an xbox one or pc that can handle Subnautica. I hope Unknown Worlds can find it in there hearts to add this game to the PS4.
It would be cruel not to add this game to PS4, I've only come across this games development over the last month and hell yeah release this for ps4 guys. why is this even a debate?
It's already on XB1 Early Access, the only reason it's not on PS4 is cause they don't do early access; the game has to be fully released (v1.0) before going to PS4.
Now I know that everyone has there own opinion and many want a console version, but these things take time. Once the main game is complete on PC, porting it to consoles will be almost instant, maybe even within the first few months! all that we need is patience.

I know they will listen, remember that PS4's have to have the full version, so no pre-release. once the game is out on PC, you should expect console versions to come out in the next few weeks or month. And there are many console players (maybe not more than PC but still) that want to play this game, but there are many things that are required to port a game. also, the money that is needed to port the game is quite large, I learned most of this when I became a programmer.
omg i really want it for ps4 it looks soooo fun and i would love to be able to play it on ps4 it it never comes out for ps4 i will literaly cry and be extremely mad for a whole month no joke or sarcasim plz make it for ps4 pleeeeeeeze!!
It's already out for Xbox, I hope once that's out of preview stage, then PS4 won't be hard to adapt for (similar hardware; 8-core Jaguar CPUs and AMD graphics).

Every time I see a PC verses Consoles topic I remember this youtube video.

I am glad SubNautica is being developed for PC.
The devs should focus on the games first and improving then they can sell it as a full game for consoles.
