Bump for comment thread. I mainly made this post to capture Google searches for the phrase "Subnautica Xbox One Release Date" as it seems many people are searching for this information.
So.... does this mean we'll need a friend invite in order to get into the Preview program, and play the game?
If so - OH GOD IS THERE ANYONE WITH AN INVITE? PLEAAAASE
I can, but you shouldn't have to join the program, the preview games are available for everyone as far as Im aware. Btw does anyone know how much it will cost?
Great news! I'll definitely be supporting you on this platform. I really enjoy the game on the PC, but something about playing it on a big TV with a controller in hand seems very appealing to me as well.
I'm glad the ID@Xbox is attracting companies such as Unknown Worlds!

Dude, when will the true release date for the xbox 1 port be? Many people will not be able to play it on the preview program as it is an invitation only program.
Today is April fool's, but this post is true. It's hard to say ANYTHING today, but I will try anyways.
As you can probably tell from our tweets and the lack of Subnautica on XB1, we weren't ready to release Subnautica on XB1 today. We had problems with frame-rate and streaming in loot and creatures fast enough, so we decided to hold off.
We really want to make sure we're not compromising the game on consoles, so it's going to take us a bit longer. I hope it will be worth the wait.
We're still aiming for the Xbox Preview Program very soon. We just want to make sure performance is there. This is our very first game for consoles and we want to make the best first impression possible. Will will shout it from the rooftops once we know.
The thing is, I got Subnautica on my computer and it was good. The only problem was that my graphics card was out of date, and it looked horrible. Two weeks later I just thought, "could Subnautica be on the Xbox one". I searched it up and found out it came out April 1st, the day I searched it up. Sadly I heard it was delayed. I need to know when it would come out.
All I can do is speculate. If they were able to fix whatever caused them to delay within last week they still have to have microsoft certify the new build. Which can take up to two weeks. So best case scenario end of April. My personal opinion on this subject is fairly jaded. Let's face it Unknownworlds just started working on the xbox port in December. Their progress is admirable. I'm just getting impatient with announcements that come to nothing. Looking at you Space Engineers, or Kerbal, or DayZ. I mean Keen announced SE for xbox at e3 2014.....

I believe the plan is to see how well XBOX sales go before they try for PS4
P.S. Will the console still be available? Also, what branch will be used? (Stable, experimental, other?)

Definitely! I'd rather have a late but finished game than an early but unfinished game.
There is no announced date for Subnautica on Xbox One currently. Only an estimated "Mid-April" time period.
Mid 2016. Sooo October? Optimistically.
