Yeah, the Humble Bundle store kind of came out of nowhere, we hadn't planned on following up the Halloween sale with another sale this early. We only found out about it a few days ago when they asked if we wanted to be part of the store, which of course we said yes to. But fresh blood for NS2 is always a good thing.
Just be nice to them. As I said in another post: don't rage at them; they will leave the game quickly. We MUST retain them to keep NS2 alive.
Also, another NOOBS ONLY server would help. Another <100 hours only. Maybe set another for 100hrs-300hrs (I know how difficult it is to admin such servers, but I (and I'm sure others) would have no problem helping the admins). After that... well, they either can play the game or not.
I've seen 3 different servers with that title. The one that made the post, mine and Noobs R Us (I Think is the name).
My play time is different than most, but I admin my server (ToS Noobs Only - Learning Server) from my phone as much as one can while @ work. But thus far its working out well enough. If I find someone who wants to admin along side, who knows the game and the idea behind the server, I'd add more.
Another such server wouldn't hurt, just need the players to understand its not a server to pub-stomp. on
meh, I can admin... been around since the alpha pre-order and have adminned a couple of servers (the servers died out when the player count dropped). PM me if you need someone else / you are interested.
I read the thread title as a concern for rookie players' financial well being.
Considering the frequent donation requests and potential PC upgrade that comes with joining this little club, Id say its a perfectly valid concern /:)
Seriously though, as painful as the rooking swarm can be for NS2 veterans, more players is always good for a game like this. Once implemented and assuming its done right, matchmaking might help ease the pain.

NS2 - $6.25USD
pretty!
Because refinery looks awesome.
And new docking is a horrible spidernetwork mess. All dem weirdly turning low-ceiling corridors. Brrhrhrhrh.
I've never paid notice to map balance outside mineshafts cave/repair spawns. (And dockings locker.)
I'm sensing 6 ninja's in just the upper left tree alone... Don't go into the long grass!
We should all be fully prepared to donate shotguns as needed.
plz..my shotgun is stolen enough ty.
Stop dying nub.
