I tested some stuff in the editor.

I usually have my settings on meters. I just switched to inch/feet and now I can make the grid three times smaller than normally. 12.5cm, the minimum size in the metric system, equals the third smallest in imperial!

    Seriously @UWE WTF?!?

yeah, you should always stick with the default grid unit, which is "inch".
all official maps are done with this grid unit and if you switch it (which most people are not doing),
you can mess up everything if you scale, move, create geometry between different grid units.

btw: i am used to meters like you, but in the editor there is "no real difference". all you see on the grid are just a lot of rectangles. ;D
but now i know: the inch unit grid is smaller than the meter unit grid.

The funny thing is the game is using meters for it's distance units (lua scripting). Not that this has an influence on which one you use for mapping :P

And I'm sure most of you using inches (myself included) have noticed the occasional rounding errors in the editor on the positions of your vertices.

That explains something... I will stick to inches for now. This means that I will have to use the marine model as reference a lot, though :)

Max McGuire: "Its to screw up peoples work and btw: dont ask stupid questions again! (otherwise i will change the grid unit in all offical maps and release it in b259!)"

Because of the workshop I might even do that. And reinstall.

Units don't matter in the editor they said. It's all only boxes in a grid they said. Real sizes don't matter they said.

Fucking Bullshit! I have to resize a whole map because of this stupid grid! One would assume it's all the same lenghts labeled differently, but noooo! Apparently one meter DOESNT equal 32" although proportions tell me so!

I am SO annoyed by this fucking piece of shit!

    /rant
(take everything above with humor. except the part about the whole map. i really have to resize it. ****)

i am mapping on a map without a single playtest ;D
i guess i will be completly fucked when the layout / size is completly crap... but it should be fine... at least i hope so ;)

Woo, nice stuff. I always wondered how Spark would handle with non-metallic environments. Looks like it does pretty well.

Josepe I like your work! I like your style of mapping. :)

Just something I saw before and noticed the poinr power is at an angle of 45 degrees, which when destroyed and "sparks fall" if it is at an angle of 90 degrees is rare, because the sparks fall into 45 degrees, I tried to do this before and it looks good, it has to be in a "wall at 90 degrees ... Just to give a tip

    Very cute brushwork!

If you don't mind @Hypergrip I will add those textures to my mod. I am inspired by many games with my current mod, including The Specialists, and this texture set puts me in mind of one of the maps that I used to love in that game.

    Thank you :)

i did check the powernode again - the damaged cable & the electrical sparks should be ok.
