    Map looks great. Still I can't help but be curious at the part where it says you will reveal how you plan to keep NS2 running on the 30th. Feeling a bit apprehensive at that part.

    So can people on Linux and Windows play on the same servers? Otherwise i don't really see the point. According to the Steam hardware survey, just about 1% of all Steam users run Linux. That's not exactly gonna result in a huge boost in sales from the casual perspective, and it's not enough to even consider hosting tournaments for them from the competitive perspective.

    @Robby

    Everyone on the same servers:)

    The big win here on the linux side is on servers for the existing community. Windows hosting a is a generally a bit more expensive when compared to linux. The other bonus is increased access to the game on mac and linux platforms. Steam/valve are trying to push linux adoption due to concerns about the increasingly walled garden nature of windows, I'm looking at you windows8.

    Well that's nice. Lower hosting prices would be great too.

    I'm really excited! Especially about the money thing - I'm honestly curious how UWE plans to make money going forward. NS2 is a great game but it's a niche game and UWE doesn't charge for DLC or anything so... yeah... looking forward to it.

    My guesses for new content: sound in trailer sounds like a new gun? Maybe a sniper rifle

    And customizable skins for Armour and alien textures for a price.

    NS2 is going to be from August 30th on a pay to win game. I'm seeing increased damage and armor upgrades for a price and maybe the occasional slay command perk for those pesky fades that just won't die. I know I'll be shoveling out my money for the new quadrexo suit with 4 mini-guns and the ability to squash skulks that are biting at my feet. Good thing I get paid on the 30th :P

    Hi guys, I have decided to upgrade the graphics card on my Linux PC for this, how would a GTX470 handle it?

    Cheers

    GTX470 could handle it, but probably not as well as you would want. Though, the game is very CPU limited so it might work fine depending on how good your cpu is.

    I really hope it doesn't involve a complete change in feel and art direction

    I run a GeForce 470, and you can run with everything on except Ambient Occlusion and get~60fps if you have a half-decent CPU.

    I have a 560Ti and it runs fine without everything on so a 470 should handle it too, they are both close in performance
    http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/video_lookup.php?gpu=GeForce+GTX+470
    But I wonder if on linux the performances are the same, but anyway it should run decently.
