-Self solved issue, hitdetection....

It doesn't happen all the time but it happens about 75% of the time, where when I aim directly at people alien or human (more so human) I get the blood but no damage is done.
Sometimes I even have to aim ahead to do damage.

I've dropped two clips into skulks in games and it only registered like 25% of my shots same with any other alien or when I point blank bite people in the face as alien I don't get the hit (it's not as bad on aliens only about 50% there). When I first started playing I only had this issue on bad servers but now I get it all the time with 60megabit net (port forwarded) and 2x gtx480s w/3570k at 4.5ghz running 200fps or so this shouldn't be happening.
When I first bought this game on x-mas I had no issues hitting people on either side, but now it's so bad I just want to bash my head on my desk and makes me quit playing.

Not to compare apples to oranges but mw3 with a crap host was better than this has become. I know there are several other issues at hand but it seems like every patch it gets worse and worse. The only game that I can think of that this compares to lag wise would be Crossfire the free to play junk game I've played before.
-Is it just me or are others noticing this issue?
-Is it because I'm running such high frame rates?

I also know the servers only run 33ticks and is probably part of the issue.
Any light on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I actually thought the hit reg and the "seeing blood but no dmg" has been MUCH better this patch.

Can you also confirm you are getting consistent 200fps in combat?

200fps.... Doubtful with that spec. Screenshot plz?

And yes, hitreg was improved this patch. If you can provide a video of issues it can be investigated more.

My bad, it drops to 90 - 120 in game. Lobby was 200.

I found most of the issue to be with my router, they just came out with a new update. Kinda weird how it only affected this game though, or why it became more apparent recently.

    i'm 45fps in lobby... :'(
I had the same bug a couple of times. When i'm monitoring my ping, it goes from 60 to 90. NS2 is the only game where it happens... I though that the hitreg bug has something to do with my ping.

Other thing more or less related to that, i OFTEN die as alien when i'm behind the wall. Running away from a marine, and he's still killing me while he can't see me...

also having an issue with hitreg and have been for a while. 239 is the only patch however where im getting UPDATED by people now. 23 ping in my last match and had 2 instances as a skulk where i bite someone and kill them and they get a simultaneous shotgun kill on me even though i see his death animation and hear the death rattle. I get 60fps as i use vsync and tripple buffering but 60 solid fps otherwise unless its freezing when in/near exos.

I think I read somewhere that hitreg is clientside now?

The short explanation is that your client registers a hit, the server independently confirms that the hit is valid, then updates both clients (the shooter and the target) that the hit was valid.

This process isn't perfect and there have been some edge cases where mismatches between client-server-client have caused funky problems (e.g. bullet splash or bite hit sound, but no hit registered; animations mismatch with hitboxes, etc). Many of the most egregious or common of these are fixed, but other issues likely still exist.

So I seem to be having an issue (i never noticed before) where my ping is spiking by at least 30ms whenever combat starts, even just 1v1 with a skulk my ping will jump and its even worse when ti comes to lots of shit going on with big fights, maximum it seems to jump though is about 60-70ms above what my regular ping is in a server

thanks for explaining, does this explain why im experiencing "lag kills" for instance im shooting at a skulk I miss a lot of my shots, the skulks probably has 1 hp left, I have 1 bullet in my lmg, I manage to shoot him hes not dead yet split second later press 2 to pull my pistol out but before that completes hes dead from the last shot I got on him, just took some time for server to recongnize I shot him to make him dead?

If you really want to see how it "works" get a friend to help you. I first noticed how terrible the lag is, even with a good ping, the other day on a server. My ping was 23-27 and the servers tickrate was 29.9. Mine was 100+. I was firing at a skulk who was jumping off a wall, and I accidentally stopped firing because my finger slipped, and he died a second after I stopped firing. He was dead before I ever stopped firing, and the compensation is so terrible, that it was delayed a full second before he was killed.

Can't count the number of times I've seen a skulk die at my feet after I'm already half way through reloading. Doesn't bother me too much though, at least the bullets did hit.
