I like the new infestation but at the same time it looks half-done with all of the empty spots it leaves behind (and takes too long to fill). To be honest I preferred the blanket cover of the old infestation, a combination of the two seems like the most reasonable solution.

Although the news post did already address this so I hope it is all sorted out at release!

Can't wait to use the new armor.

I assume the lack of First-Person model changes for Black Armor-users is because of low priority.

I feel like there are so many ways to change the first-person view to match the model you're using (like how the Halo 4 version of Master Chief has an outline of the helmet visor on the HUD for the player to see)

This is really happening! And to sqeak in some new infestation last second! Wow!

Did it have something to do with that performance speedup on 224?

I didn't notice a fix for the ns2_docking hole in the vent. I haven't tested it out yet, but I didn't notice it in the change log :\

I assume the Egg health increase was to slightly relieve the ease by which Aliens can get egg-locked?

Also, does removing teleport egg mean that you won't get teleported when trying to morph anymore?

still seen marine rush egg-locking hives ;p (in last few 226 games just played)

you can turn off the dynamic infest back to the old kind in graphics options also

    hitreg seems better!

The game is performing much better and I like it.

    18 hours and 18 minutes till 1.0!(Hopefully)

Even though the current infestation is a bit minimal, I really hope the cool growing effect from the video will happen from cyst to cyst.

Yeah, the new "rich" infestation sadly seems to be a bit lacking in... richness. Also all the bubbles are are pulsing synchronously and the specular map does weird stuff (in addition to having some strange noise on it that can also be noticed on ns2_docking for example).

Yes, I am a demanding customer. Keep up the good work and congratulations on reaching this milestone. :)

Not sure about the new infestation. It seems to be missing large patches in places there should at least be floor decals, and its model seems to be limited to random oval bumps.

It'd be much nicer if the infestation geometry was randomly generated, if infestation always had at least the floor decal when it was in effect to prevent structure placement confusion, and if the pulsations had a tendency to emanate from the hive through the infestation instead of randomly.

Can someone get a video of this stuff up?? Or did I miss a link.

thatd be pretty creepy if the hive beat like a heart and the infestation pulsated outwards form it

We're not quite done with the infestation. It will look a bit different in 1.0.

Has the health of the command station gone up? I was just screwing around by myself and noticed that it took significantly longer to bile the cc than the powernode.

Infestation is a work in progress, and as mentioned in the patch notes, it will be getting filled in more so there are less gaps. It has been a delicate balance between visuals, gameplay and performance when it comes to actual 3 dimensional infestation, and it's pretty amazing what Max and Steve have been able to pull off in such a short amount of time.

While the infestation looks still a bit rough around the edges, I like the direction it is going. Now it feels less like an "ordinary" slime cover and more like part of a living, breathing organism; almost like a huge gastrointestinal system.

...and that's a good thing in my opinion. The uniform motion conveys a sense of breathing... or maybe bowel movements :-D .

Tram is not the same thing as Docking. Has the docking hole been fixed?

    Just tried out the build.

So, sometimes evovling in vents, gets you out of the map. :D

It was not mentioned in the change log if the performance enhanced version of veil was included or not.

    V-SYNC + MULTICORE = severe movement hitching

It seems disabling either one stops the hitching.

I have to play with V-sync, so I disabled multi-core to make the game playable. But I also noticed all 4 cores were still being used (?)
