Did this patch fix the issue that a cyst can be placed so far from another cyst/hive that it starts taking damage, even though it visually shows that it's in range? It creates infestation under itself and everything but still damage ticks on it.
If not, there's some recalculation needed to be done there.
Also Rifle still on rare occassions started with less ammo than intendede, and sometimes the reload feels like bugging out - there's animation but the ammo doesn't replenish.
I've never encountered that problem?
Right click on the game in steam.
Go to properties.
Local files tab.
Then click Verify Integrity of Game Cache.
I think that should fix it. Sometimes when updating I guess steam messes up and some of the files get lost.
Skie, I think the rifle starting with less than 50 bullets it's just down to you clicking before the round starts and it fires before you can see it.
Any chance your getting 'out of video memory' errors spammed in console when that occurs?
We've had all this code queued up until after the patch...commencing massive checking party!
Yes, we know about these issues. It is most likely due to running out of physical memory (despite sometimes getting errors about video memory), as we've recently crossed a line at some point. It is the reason why a lot of people are unable to load Tram, as well (and Summit is getting close to that line). Max already has some optimizations that are almost done already that should save a large chunk of memory, but they weren't ready for these patches. The 188 patch should have them, however, and fix issues like this.

He meant "check in" not "checking". We are able to check in all the code that was on various programmers local machines, that we couldn't add to the main branch of the game because we needed to release the 186/187 patches.

No, I'm pretty sure it happened once mid-game as well. I spawned with 48 bullets. I was firing the rifle right before dying.
IDirect3DDevice9::CreateVertexBufferfailed (21504bytes, Out of video memory)
Massive fps drop
Testing in-game now...
187 is 336.3Mb
MEEEEEEEDIIIIIC! xD
Nice and fast patch! Ty UWE

The reason why you start with less ammo is because you are klicking LMB because you want to spawn, thats a reflex after playing Aliens. Just wait till you spawn and you will always have 50 Ammo.

Stay a while in MS and watch the spawning marines. Sometimes you will see them shooting 3 or 5 bullet before they move.
What's with the pistol nerf? There's no reason to be changing the damage types all of a sudden. What happened to popping skulks and lerks in 4 or 5 shots?
Is the flame thrower usable again in this patch? Or does it rubberband all over the damn place still?
I tried 186 and it was unplayable, I'd crash 15 seconds into every game, infestation was white and random buildings and player models were invisible.
187 is perfect so far! :)
One thing that did seem to help the problem during 186 was running in window mode (as opposed to full screen).

It just seems kind of out of the blue, especially for a quick fix patch.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Their is another thread on this, but it seems the general consensus is to stop the pistol from destroying onos in one of the next patches
Last time it happend when I used the armory.
