Looks great Cory! - I have a sneaking suspicion that the longer, sleeker barrel will make people more accurate (Or at least feel more accurate) with the rifle. It helps you align the crosshair with the target by giving your eye a point of reference in the frame.
Its always great to see you guys polishing up game assets, but personally, i always felt the shotgun needed a face-lift more than the rifle did, the shotgun looks beefy, a little too much, to the point that is looks fat. Now that the rifle has been made sleeker, new players will see this even more in the shotgun.
While i'm sure revising the rifle may have taken enough time that revising the shotgun wouldn't be justified, you guys should look into the shotgun's appearance in the first person view, maybe its just the origins, but something doesn't feel right about it.

Looks nice. Old rifle will be missed though. I guess this is just another thing to let us say to the noobs. "Back in beta days the rifle never looked like the way it does today!" (old man voice)
doesn't look as bulky as it did did before that's actually good change. I also think the pistol and shotgun needs to be reworked. Pistol feels too bulky to me, and shotgun doesn't look right to me, can't put my finger on it - something is missing i think.
I'm hoping to see more progress on technical tasks to be honest. the progress page no longer updates what's Max working on, and what has been done. So while these changes indeed are great engine progress is something what everyone really wants to hear about.

I will say bravo, new assault rifle looks pretty good, maybe a tad awkward in the first person shot, the old just seemed more hefty and I kind of liked that. But I will reserve judgement till I see in game myself.
I will say Cory, one thing that may never happen, but I really hope does is a model of the pistol similar to that of NS1 in a sense of a slimmer or refined and less fat gun. I loved the NS1 pistol, one of my all time favorite weapons of any game. But what really sold it to me was the really distinct higher pitched sound that it made when you rapid fired away at a couple remaining skulks. BRING BACK THAT SOUND! BEST SOUND EVA!

The model looks great, but when I load up ns1 and run around I freaking fall in love with the rifle shooting sound. If you could bring that level of intensity back, you'd have the look and the feel down pat

Uhm because the marines where those special helmets with the HUD on it and thats the crosshair. Thats why there is floaty blue light in there face all the time. lol

Such a weapon would be useless without a helmet. If the helmet got damaged or your batteries died... A real weapon would have backup sights.

Dude. Dude! Nanites. You can't disable nanites!
But whatever you do, don't try to repair your team-mate's helmet during a training exercise. S*** always ends bad man. Messy bad.
I am unsure. The new one looks 'lighter' than the old model; I think it has to do with the front muzzle. On the old model it was 'heavier', as if it were closer to a shotgun than a rifle. I'm struggling to pin point exactly what it is, but the precise words escape me right now...
The rest of the new model looks better than the old one. Just the muzzle, something about it...

That, and you can leave the Aimpoint sight that the US Army uses on for like 7 years before its AAA battery dies... I'm pretty sure the average lifespan of a TSA Marine is much shorter
i like it, but it looks more like an in-game upgrade in my opinion :p
I would also like to see the "holes" near the end of the "bullet exhaust" from the old rifle make it's way into the new one. (I'm terrible with weapons terms in english :p)
As long as it doesn't fire the ammo shells back INTO the user like it did before, I'd be happy with it.
Really hope you changed the ammo being ejected from the left side to the right... it might look better shooting out on the left, but it makes no logical sense at all.
also the way the rifle is being held in first person view looks a bit strange (old and new rifle) not sure what it is, but its looks skewed or something
Comments
because the game doesn't use ADS. NS1's rifle looked stupid with the scope.

skulks now not going to be able to hide behind the gun xD

Good job! :D
Now you're doing cosmetic surgery, don't think you think the gorge could use a big white smile? ;D
