I've only played NS2 under Windows 7 64bit.

It seems like OP doesnt have enough "$kyllz" to install a game properly.

I see 1 gig ram doesn't seem enough specially since steam alone takes up about250 megs ram other bullcrap programs take up about 500 mb

That is clear!
Win 7 32bit need min 1GB and 64 bit 2Gb, only for Windows.
So get more ram, would solve the Problem

Wait, what? Why would you have win7 with less than 4gb?

Works fine with my 2 gigs, I can run crysis etc etc.

But 1 gig is a bit small definitely.

I had win 7 32b on my old comp with 3 gb, worked prefectly fine.
My new comp has 6 gb, and runs win 7 64b just fine as well.

But yeah, 1 gb should not be enough, but getting more ram is not that expensive or hard.

RAM is so cheap though, surely 4gb would only put you, what, $40-60 out of pocket?

really this post is hilarious.

Cant be because of the OS type... check other things (as RAM mentioned before)

RAM is dirt cheap. 6GB of DDR3 costs about as much as a COD game.
• HarimauHarimau Join Date: 2007-12-24 Member: 63250Members
And I'd rather buy the RAM.
• Josh86Josh86 Join Date: 2010-12-06 Member: 75513Members
Perhaps the 1GB requirement is in ADDITION to the system RAM required to run your OS and various applications, yes? Either way, I've tested NS2 on W7 RC 64-bit, W7 32-bit, W7 64-bit, and Windows XP SP2. The XP system is a Core 2 Duo laptop with 2GB of RAM and integrated Intel graphics. It will start and play on the laptop, althought at a terrible framerate.
