Too bad they can't get as many preorders as Minecraft.
That dude gets like 3k - 4k orders a day.

Hmm didn't know. So, just thinking back on past events: they sell the alpha only up to a specific date presumably so no one can wait till after it's released, and after it's on youtube, to decide if they really want to spend $50. i.e. they did this to make some money, because they obviously needed it.

It seems likely, depending on how limited their resources are, that they are trying to fix all the egregious problems with the alpha so they can, in the near future, sell alpha access and upgrades for some limited time (or all time leading up to the beta). And maybe some dlc offers down the road for a taser right? :P

Yeah I think they did mention that they were going to reopen special edition preorders at some point for a little bit, but I'm not sure what the status of that is.

Simple is simple but super simple?

I am assuming that these are bots to test way points or do they actually attack enemy entities?

Is it going to be included with source so they can be modified and tweaked?

I'd imagine bots or AIs are already in for builders/nymphs and the eventual babblers of the crag. It seems the super simple bots are more for standing in as players to test making squads and such. They may have more features for testing netcode as well. I can't see how having bots would really stress the netcode like a real server full of players, but I could see how having bot "players" running around would help determine where things are going amiss in client-side prediction and such.

The bots would basically give the coders and testers more ways of making test cases for all the bugs and features without requiring more real people pushing buttons.

Might also be simple bots to help test netcode by simulating client actions.

Ah, now see, that's a different story. You've contradicted yourself.
The fact is you can't really comment that 'it is obvious and only requires a little bit of thinking' because you've already read all the discussion, and the official word on it. You've got a hindsight bias.

That's beside the point though. There's no real reason why they can't describe them on the progress page (or the first page of this thread which is linked to from the progress page) to quell constant repetition of the same query.
Not that it should bother them, really; if I were them I'd just ignore it (as they seem to be doing already).

Where do I contradict myself? You'll have trouble...

And no actually, I had "worked out" what they meant before all this asking on the forums and subsequent explaning by staff and others. Because I'm not a complete moron, and because it's obvious in the context of the tracker.

Also, could you be less transparent with your ###### awful trolling?

well maybe harimau is a complete moron.... ever think of that. maybe things should be even more clear and obvious with big bright popups that annoy the people that can think for themselves... :-P just for him. how about have the popups come up with music also, that you can't turn off at all. Then its really in your face, but unavoidable..
Harimau - you gotta ask yourself, where does it end and common sense should take over.

or maybe he is trolling with nothing else to do.

because its likely a tougher issue to crack down on than the other smaller elements of the game. doesn't mean work isn't being done on it though.

Authenticating error on the progress page - Does this mean they don't want us to see the progress tracker for now?

As long as the next patch comes out eventually, I'm fine with it.

EDIT:

OK, it's working fine again. Great!
