Daylight savings

GwahirGwahir Join Date: 2002-04-24 Member: 513Members, Constellation
The time seems to be incorrect, the forum time is off from my time by an hour + the normal forum temporal error.

I think the daylight savings correction is off. (yes I have it set to adjust that in my settings)

Yeah... Forum time is 1hr and 20mins behind real world time for me... o.O

    I too have auto-adjusting DST.

It's not a DST problem, the server clock is just off.

I have no DST set and my time is off by 1:20 hours also.

This can easily be adjusted in the ACP / TOOLS & SETTINGS / Date & Time Formats, which includes Server Time Adjustment (in minutes).

The biggest effect of not observing DST (daylight savings time) seemed to be which TV Guide schedule one had to look at to make sure you didn’t miss your shows. This was fine, until I moved away from Indiana, and I was perpetually perplexed about what time it was back at my parents’ house, making calling them a crap shoot.

So, the Server's Time is still off... </annoy>

I have to set my timezone to -3:30 to get the time to show accurately, instead of my usual -6 offset.
Definitely need to get server time fixed.

I know it's "cheating", but why not go <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=UserCP&CODE=04" target="_blank">here</a>, then adjust "Your Base Time Zone" at the top?

It's one hour early now instead of two. (It's correct if I enable the DST offset, but DST isn't in effect.)

Edit: Now it's showing the correct time.

Yeah, clock is out of whack again... 1hr 50mins out.

Yeah, I'm seeing it 1 hour and 50 minutes ahead as well. Does the webserver not synchronize it's time via NTP periodically?

Ah good, not just me having this issue then.

    Current time: 16:09
    This forum time: 16:57

The server time is still wrong. It's odd how this should be an extremely simple fix and yet it's been ignored for so long. Currently it's one hour and 50 mins fast for me. When I set my time zone / DST settings correctly it showed the time as 5:58 am and it was really 4:08 am.

Even if you manipulate the time zone you can never get it completely correct - it'll be off by ten minutes. It's a pain having to go in every six months and change it.
