Hello Folks, Thought I would show some pics... I have never mapped before, and I have been fooling around with Sparks to see what I could make. In this "map" I have tried different stuff, one of the things is the lightning (which is pretty important to have a good feel). The First 6 screenshots are the ones before I have changed the lighting. In the last two pictures you can see that I have changed the colour to blue in that hallway, that in order to obtain a darker feel. I just think that the yellow in that part was too birght. <img src="http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/1015/stardust008overview.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /> <img src="http://img686.imageshack.us/img686/3241/stardust004.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /> <img src="http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/9059/stardust001.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /> <img src="http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/9163/stardust003.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /> <img src="http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/9059/stardust001.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /> <img src="http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/5515/stardust006.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /> <img src="http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/2006/stardust007.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /> <img src="http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/5515/stardust006.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
Any comment is very much appreciated. I know I have seen some incredible work overhere by some very gifted mappers. Greetings, XtOf
PS: Can someone tell me how I can change the size of my images, I know that the forum does it for me, but can I do it manually?
This one is literally taken from ns_bast vent on the left side of the map don't remember where but there was a vent whit red walls like in this picture
Had some time to try the editor last night and made a quick little scene. The editor is nice but because of the missing functions it can get pretty frustrating at times, cant wait for new updates.
Having worked with Source for years it felt really familiar and i'm pretty impressed.
Any tips, advice, would be greatly appreciated. This is from my second round, added some new props, redid the map's lighting, hoping it's a lot better!
someone wants a diving tour? <img src="http://borgkinghome.bo.funpic.de/images/ns2editor05.JPG" border="0" class="linked-image" /> yes I know the window glass texure looks broken , but I hope UWE will add semi-transparent textures later...

I know I've been showing corridors the whole time - meh. There's a door on the right end where I will be starting to make different heights and stuff like that :D
Also for those guys who think the far ends look dark in every pic you see - it's less dark when you're closer up to it.

Hey that looks cool! Doesn't seem too dark to me though, but you could always throw in an omni at 450 radius and .2 intensity.
Yeah I did, got 5 omni's with 1.5 intens that are "strategicly placed" (rofl - in realtime? No way :P) which gives off this result, without it it would be uber dark :P

Open vent ? - ahh you mean the laundry chute... yeah, I suppose if the base happened by a million to one chance be overrun by blood thirsty aliens it might post a threat, but lets be realistic, whoever heard of that happening off-world... we're alone in the universe - right ?
I really like that vent. Vents that don't look like deliberate vents are awesome, this is defined by the structure of the room as vents usually are, rather than being clearly made to be a square vent.
