    man its so funny how ppl are getting botherd by small stuff like the lights :D I mean would that be enough not to play the game ? come on people its not a stealth action game like metal gear its freaking Natural Selection, I mean have u ever watched a Aliens movie ? if so have u ever seen the humans sneaking ? no its allways the aliens who does that.
    please stop all the bitc**** about stuff that aint important and give these guys a little credit for what they do and how they give the community involvment in the development process, how many companies do that?
    We all love their game and their work lets give them some support and appreciatation instead of all this negativity.

    The easiest way to make everyone happy is that every marines got the ability to turn on and off their lights..

    I have to say, how many time have i duck in the dark waiting for a PG or hiding because a big fat onos was near me..

    I'm not saying lights are bad, it makes the marines looks awesome, but if we could turn them off if needed, it would be great :p

    Myself, I'd kinda like the rines to have full-face helmets. Badass look, practical, and it preserves the illusion. But I mean if they've made a substantial amount of art then of course they aren't going to just DROP it... meh, idle discussion is still fun, even if it's just amongst us fans.

    Funny thing too is that would kinda make people into Red Shirts ... which an NS player most certainly is. I mean come on a soldier's job in NS is to follow orders until he is INEVITABLY killed, likely before 5 mins have elapsed.

    Because there never was dark with the alien flashlight, which lit up any marine like a Christmas tree. High gamma only helps marines.

    Here's an idea ... since they've only made ONE face model/texture anyway and it's not too late to go for a closed-helmet design:


    If you want to make marine players able to tell each other apart, why not just throw in some kind of decal system? I.e. some limited "armor-graffiti" (players pick from pre-made shapes and colors to prevent pr0n and trolling)

    well if you want a video i gess you have to wait a while.

    Thats its just the models and like said before, there in-engine.

    And the animation for the humans are not quite done to show off yet.

    Well, yes i love to see and in-engine animation of the marines. Se far we all only seen (apart from dev vids) in-engine screens and vids. No in-game yet.

    Maybe when we are close to alpha/beta? well you can allways check "youtube" when the alpha is out as im sure ppl will up load som in-game centent.

    just registered, new to this forum. but figured i'd throw in my 2 cents.

    first off, awesome work for the design and development team. all this positive response should be inspiring and i am still amazed at how great it looks.

    i agree that the TSA mark looks a little cartoony and too fashioned. perhaps it can be just a emblem/logo or not appear so prevalent?
    i don't think the suit needs buttpads, however i do think the wrangler jeans back pockets bother me. might as well make a wallet puffing out. perhaps some of the armor texture (around the neck/midsection) could apply there. or even just run down the small of his back to cover his tailbone. doesn't have to total ass coverage. i'm thinking of functionality as well as aesthetics. likewise the crotch guard in front seems flimsy and maybe there's a way to make it a bit bigger so it covers part of his inner thigh, which is i'd imagine, vulnerable. although i guess you can up and tuck pretty easily with that strip. loving the small blue lights on helmet, back, and front.

    the helmet and HUD don't bother me and i do like the idea of being able to see the face. perhaps upgraded armor covers more of the face.. etc. although i think it's cool idea to customize the face.. but feel that's more of an RPG element that isn't essential. if anything a slightly rugged, generic face that is randomized would do the trick. like people have mentioned, we don't spend too much time in FPS staring at each other faces. occasionally maybe, but i'd rather see the extra effort be put into the environment, gameplay, or weaponry, than customized faces.

    like i said, overall, i commend the design and development team.. this is incredibly awesome. and i'm just nitpicking.

    BUT there is one thing that does bother me and i'm surprised no one's really mentioned it. or maybe i missed it... or maybe it's just me. but the way the plated armor is fastened on REALLY bothers me. i mean.. seirously? elastic and velcro??? i had skateboarding elbow and knee pads my mom use to put on me in the 3rd grade that used the same technology. okay okay, i'm exaggerating a bit. but i feel armor plates would be cooler if the fasters (behind the legs for example) didn't look so cheap. they look like they could slip off rather easily or slide up/down/left/right as well. i like how the back of the boots fasten the armor together there. maybe the other pads can employ a similar technology, some kind of moldable fastener that goes around the leg? i don't know. but that way it could possibly offer maybe some more protection for the back of the leg as well?

    i don't think we need to bolt the armor on like starcraft, or go completely iron man. but those elastic bands really bother me. i don't know the solution though... sorry. :(

    I belive the screens are edited because black is not really black in the pictures. The amor does not look like metal, it's more like some comic style. It got it's own charm but i expected some realism.

    Btw i can't find any infos about the alpha or beta and since the game release was announced for november 2009 that seems pretty close to the release date for thoes two stages. Are there any change of plans or is the release date the date for the first alpha and not for the actual game? ;)
