I got myself the SE. The deciding factor here was the eternal gratitude. I'm hoping to turn that into sexual favours the next time I'm in the states.

Besides, I had nothing better to do with the money. I was going to blow them all on food, but who needs to eat when NS2 is around?

    Howdy

Just pre-ordered two copies of NS2 Premium, for me and my brother.
The reason: You guys did a great job on NS1 and I do want to support you in releasing a great second part.

    Peace,
    Shaun Hooks

MY first post on the boards, and bought the SE version. Played NS1 quite a lot and it was a great experience. By far was my favorite game to play and look forward to NS2 and hope the little extra for pre-ordering the SE version helps with development.

Bought the special before the trailer came out - I know you guys will deliver, no funny business like the whole L4D/L4D2 ripoff fiasco. NS2 is gonna be the breakout multiplayer game of the year and I want to be on the bandwagon from the beginning. Best of luck, get that sucker out in the open so we can play!

I bought it too. Here in Argentina there is no videogames market. So if one really wants to buy a game, you have to import it or use digital services. They are very expensive here (because the value of the dollar to our local currency) so piracy is a common thing.
But i didnt care this time, i just wanted to say thanks, there is a good NS community here and i dont care if the game is good or bad. You guys gave me too much fun in my life, the least i can do is buy the special pre order. So i got mine!! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />:D

Keep up the good job! and thanks again!

I just bought the special edition so I can get my hands on the dev tools sooner plus the early gameplay of course.

The engine is gonna be the mutts nutts!

I've been waiting a a long time for this. I absolutely can't wait until the alpha comes out. The engine looks very cool.

Natural Selection was one of my greatest gaming experiences and is easily the best hl mod of all time.

I bought SE because I fear others do so and have an Advantage over me.
Oh hell, who I'm telling that?
You all know the Powerstrip hack that lead to the well lit Maps, so I just say: BECAUSE I CAN.

    Hey all,

I pre-ordered the big special version of NS2 as soon as i heard about it becoming available. I played NS a ton from the beta-ish time up until the NS:combat stuff started coming out if i remember right. I'm very much looking forward to getting involved big time in NS2. I remember having more fun playing NS than anything else at the time and i'm really hoping the new one is as good as that was. plx let me build giant towers of towers as a gorge because that was my favorite thing to do <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

Agreed, It could of been $50 just for a pre ordered standard edition for me and I would of bought it.

    Pre-ordered NS2 SE <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

    Stupid Alien Flashlight!

Well, NS2 is fun I guess. Or it will be fun. But I still demand my hax!
    It's hard to play on a 12" screen with WINE emulation. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

But I think I speak for all of is when I say.

    NS2 FTW!

That's probably why most people bought it. Everyone needs more WIN, especially nowadays with the economic crisis and what not.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

wow i tried to use logic to determine if the black armor would really help people hide and in every scenario i found green armor to be the best choice for blending in. Because obviously if the room is that dark for black to work, then so to will green armor. Also in hives... black will stand out the most against the infestation texture, seeing as how the infestation is a sort of pizza orange + green vines. And then their's the camping skulks that will always assume a black armored player is the most experienced marine in the room and bite you on the ass when you walk by. Their's also the greatest odds of their being more players with green armor so we'll blend in like zebras while black armor will not...

And then their will be the constant laughing about how it's always the black people in scifi movies that die first... yep. And overall if i dont like the green armor, then i'll just replace the files clientside so suit my fancy... And you can imagine that some alien players will make all the black players to look bright yellow ftw.

I didn't buy NS2 SE yet, because I'm afraid that I'm going to play it from the very begining all day long and this would make me fail at the University.
I defenitly buy it when I have more spare time, so I won't be a first-to-die-black-wearing-girl just the random green coloured marine.

I'm quite interested how many people already preordered the game and if you can make some use out of the money you got from them.

I bought NS2 the day pre-orders started because I was an avid NS fan a few years ago and the thought of NS2 nearing completion made my wallet fly open.

Sexy SE version is sexy, by the way.

Alpha version will make me cream my pants.

I picked up the Special Edition awhile ago, figuring I'd finally show support since I never had a credit card or even a savings account till recently, so I couldn't donate to become a constellation member. Way back in '03 I played NS for the first time, and my heart went to the game. For the first time, I found out that indeed, you could create friends and even hold a sense of community online, whereas before I didn't think it was possible. By purchasing the Special Edition, I don't care if I get the extra content, access, or anything. I just want to show my support for one of the best modifications of a game I have ever seen and donate to help current and future projects as Charlie and company continue development on NS2.

I tried adding a hand when I found the opportunities to, but something always pulls me away... however, I always find a way back to Natural Selection. I actually heard about the pre-order being available through a friend of mine, who never played NS1. He told me he purchased it, and he's NEVER played the game before! He's only seen a few CAL matches I was in back in the day, and a couple of pub games, but word spreads, and people who are new to the game are even purchasing the Special Edition.

If I happen to fade away before the release, I'll definitely be back.

I will probably buy the Standart Edition but afraid to say it after reading all these posts saying "OFC(!) The Special Edition". I haven't decided yet though. A very basic t-shirt of NS2 or something 'concrete' would have convinced me for the SE pack already. I'm a little fuddy-duddy about buying virtual products as it feels like wasting money in exchange for nothing, <b>although it is -absolutely- not.</b> I'm grateful for your hard work and really want to support you. I've been playing NS since it's release date and feel very guilty for doing literally nothing for its development. Oh whatever, I guess I'll go for the SE..

edit:just bought the SE to make sure not to be regretful later on.
