You're getting upset that they want people to play their games and purchase their products. You might as well cry because companies release demos. You know, those "cheap ploys" to get people to buy their product. A free copy of HL2 and access to all 3rd party mods is pretty nice.

I don't think he's upset that Valve's trying to make money, he just doesn't like all these people berating him (and me) for being mean to Valve when they're doing us this awesome favor of giving us HL2 and Ep1 all over again. Valve's doing it for them, and I have no problem with that, but I'm tired of people telling me it's for me and that I should be grateful.

I don't get it, you get another copy of a game to give to a friend. What's the problem? You're not paying for HL2 or Ep1, they come free with the box.

I don't think there's anything more for me to say about the subject that I haven't already said, really.

A demo is the definition of free because when you have acquired it, you still own the same amount of money as you did before. 'Free' and 'bundled with' are not the same. HL2 and Ep.1 are NOT free, because there is no way for me to legally acquire them without spending money. Just stop calling them free, okay? They're not free. There is no way to get them for free.

You could always try to find a sucker who'll buy HL2 + Ep.1 off you for 15 bucks though. 30 dollars for Ep.2, TF2 and Portal sounds like a mighty fine deal to me.

Ill say what I said before again, if HL2 and EP1 didn't come with it, would you still be pissed off? Really consider this.

I just think that people have this notion in their heads that if HL2 and EP1 weren't included, that the bundle would be cheaper, which may or may not be true (Im betting on it still being the same price. $45 for 3 games is a pretty good deal...)

You delve pretty deep into your ass for that huh? What about the people that have received HL2 and Ep1 from friends who bought the Orange Box. That's free.

Exactly; from what I recall the Black Box was going to be $50, and Orange Box was going to be $60. So you're not losing anything, just gaining.

I'm assuming you had to delve pretty deep into YOUR ass to come up with that insult, since it seems to be what you do your thinking AND talking with. There's no way to get free pizza. Sure, I could get my friend to buy a pizza and give it to me. That's free pizza FOR ME. But it's still not a free pizza for everyone involved, because he spent money to buy it with. There Is. No. Free. HL2. Or. Ep.1. Just like there's no free toy with your breakfast cereal. YOU STILL HAVE TO BUY THE BREAKFAST CEREAL.

So you are saying our usage of a word is wrong? What the hell does that matter? Fine, HL2 and EP1 are a "Bonus" for buying the orange box. How about that?

Although I believe the quote is "What is beauty?" Could be wrong though, I'm not so good at listening to english.

Edit: Goddamn, I had just grown used to this post-merging feature, and now it's gone again and I keep double-posting.

I see what you're aiming at, while something is free to you, indirectly money was spent somewhere. It's splitting hairs, but you're right.

Because you touch yourself at night? We need more information about your computer to diagnose the problem. Perhaps you need upgraded drivers?

One has to be of a certain "Extreme-ness" to be able to play an "Extreme" game.
• lolfighterlolfighter Snark, Dire Join Date: 2003-04-20 Member: 15693Members
One may wish to spell it "x-treem" to ensure that one is extreme enough.
• ThansalThansal The New Scum Join Date: 2002-08-22 Member: 1215Members, Constellation
vowels are not extreme.

The proper spelling is XTRM!, the exclamation point is mandatory.
• BobTheJanitorBobTheJanitor Join Date: 2003-12-10 Member: 24228Members, NS1 Playtester
No worries, I already had the full version of Peggle from a while back. It's quite an enjoyable little game. I'm sure come tomorrow I'll have no need for other distractions as I try to balance my regular dose of WoW with playing the TF2 beta until my eyes bleed.
• GwahirGwahir Join Date: 2002-04-24 Member: 513Members, Constellation
Bleeding eyes are also mandatory to obtain appropriate extreme levels, but apparently it's not enough.

I don't know what kind of conception of reality you have, but in the one the rest of us share, we have no way of knowing when you get home without you telling us.
