    Sweet! Looks well themed! Could have more contrast on the lighting though, like mineshaft. But you can tell me to mineshaft off.

    Those little details are very nice, lighting needs more shadows and you could try some wall textures from ns2.wad. Keep the good work up.

    Piss poor lighting and the architecture could use some tweaking, but hey it's something new!

    I like it. Neat brush work, Texturing is cool too.
    Lighting is alright, I think its a bit too bright overall.
    sweet work so far man.

    Billy: Your texturing is fahking<i> tight.</i> Very nice. Lighting could be fixed with tweaking; try rad -gamma 0.7 on your next compile and increase the brightness of your texlights by about half (1000 = 1500, 2000 = 3000 ). Throw in some light_spots at 210 210 255 300 because I love them.

    Again, immaculate textures bud!

    hehe thanks, but this is what I do sometimes --> Work on a small hallway and try to cram in as much detail as possible (shot1), disregarding any future planning if it does turn into a map. I did get lucky with the lighting though on that second shot. Only needed 2 or 3 tweaks of me rad parameters and a hallway compiles very fast <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

    The second shot has actually evolved into 2 vents/1 extra hallway and something behind that door at the moment. with lots of moving thingies... I'll see if I can get a youtube online IF I get my encoders working...

    --> Well no idea WTH is going on with my Xvid encoders, they only want to encode uncompressed avi (sometimes) so I've gone with divX3. Youtube seems to accept it...

    <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3pOUxzqX9xw" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3pOUxzqX9xw</a> man their encoding sucks, my divX3 was crystal clear even!!! Ah well at least it shows the moving parts <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

    Kouji that second hallways is really sweet. Video is excellent too, the sounds really add to it. really nice work mate.

    Bijiy: Excellent use of textures. Lighting is nice too. The white sprite looks out of place though. Needs to be more transperant.

    It looks better in game, dunno why it looks so opaque there.

    Kouji the whole way those tubes/vents and hallways all interrelate is unbelievably kickass. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/asrifle.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::asrifle::" border="0" alt="asrifle.gif" />

    I really like that last shot bij. It feels like an ns2 variation of veil's cargo. Looks very refined. My only complaint is those sprites on the spotlights look odd, I'd make them more transparent.

    One room I finished ages ago and I forgot to upload it somehow and one room that needed small tweaks (that I also had mostly finished ages ago and I showed here before).

    Mendasp, we all know you're like the best mapper here, quit showing it off!

    Nah seriously, nice pics. Good vid, Kouji; I would like to use that room/hallway zone/whatever it is in my map ns_eyecandy. It's a map where I show off every little beautiful thing possible in the HL1 engine, and that would fit in perfectly!

    Funky blue scrolling things for the WIN! *throws Mendasp a revolving trophy*

    Er, seriously, they are nice pics. I have two problems with the blue room though - one, the pillars look like they would be hell to navigate around, perhaps not easily fixable due to the tightness of the area, and two - you have all this lovely architecture on the sides but the back wall looks GOD AWFUL! Other than that, I like <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

    Your defination of "little thingy" is quite... big! The architecture has no need for comments, it very nice. I only have issues with the lighting. And old saying is lighting can make or break a map, in this case its screwing up the nice look of the stuff you created by making everything well lit (I'm leaning towards looking like ambient lighting)

    A few tips perhaps:
    1. more colored light will always help
    2. spotlights need to have a spotlight cone of light (bright spot thingy done with the light_spot)
    3. introduce dark areas or shadows as they are called last I heard <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

    Overall it looks nice, but can look awesome if lit correctly. Now don't go all out with color lights, just tune down the ambient lighting look and add a hint of color over here and a pint of shadows over there and it will look so much better...

    I like the palm trees models <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

    nice work skacky. I think the outdoor area seen in corridor in the air is possibly a tad barren.

    I like the work in west junctions and the tarjas. Nice brushed metal style.

    The new outdoor style looks interesting, would love to see more of it and how it works out

    Well, thanks.
    It's a little co_ map I've started last week, and I tried completely different styles with contrasting themes. Lot of my friends like it, so I continue. i'm currently making the Hive <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

    I hope a topic with a beta would come soon.

    For the outdoor area with the corridor, it contents a realistic waterfall, trees and some other things. Imo the corridor himself will be redesigned, because I find it quite bad, unlike the other parts of the map that I'm proud of (The Tarjas and the C-10 Computer Systems)

    <b>Attention: </b> Not trying to steal these at all. Just saying I wanted to show them.

    These are some pictures of maps I had looked at from a while back and thought were spectacular, and just wanted to share them with you guys. I think I still have the names of the maps, just not the authors. If you made it, step forward and bask in the glory of your awesomeness. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

    <b>This first one was 'ns_cosmic'. Author unknown.</b>
    <img src="http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e74/Recoup/ns_cosmic1.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

    <b>The second here is 'ns_forsaken', obviously.</b> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
    <img src="http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e74/Recoup/ns5.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

    <b>Third one here is 'co_mino'. Again, author unknown.</b>
    <img src="http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e74/Recoup/co_mino0005.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

    Ah, and he did very great maps, some maps for CS (I remember when I was completely blown away with his map de_christmas, very old map but always impressive <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" /> )

    At this moment kawak is mapping on Source engine, on a map he started ages ago but never finished. Looked goods by the way.
