Ah, I see. Excellent textures! I saw you updated the picture. It looks even better now. Though I think you need to make more textures for the ceiling and floor.

Just so you know, the lighting is not final, the texturing isn't final, there are no displacements for the rock/grass... in fact, just about nothing is final :-P.

Wow. I found one of the first things that I did with the NSTR, it's oversized as hell, the texturing is pretty bad, and it looks dark as hell... but I could see it fine back then with my awesome monitor <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/marine.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="::marine::" border="0" alt="marine.gif" />

The screenie does look promising, but please add some spotlights and shadows. They make things looks spiffy, also perhaps experiment with some color. In the red/orange/blue what the heck perhaps even green, not all in the same are though. You're lighting, judging from your other maps, is always pretty much one color in one area, it might make things look nicer with some color here and there <-- ignore this if that is what you are aiming for, as in realistic lighting.
There are two things I like in terms of lighting of a map:
1. realistic lighting, usually white lights and every light having a source. (with good use of shadows) 2. colorfull lighting, yet not overdoing it (and shadows! I like shadows <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" /> )
colorfull usually works best in alien areas or high light emitting sources (windows with planet or sun behind it or a furnace area etc...) And the best use is of course a combination of 1 and 2...

I've updated it again because I was bored today, perhaps this will be finished tomorrow, I can't work on it for more than 15-30 minutes a day without running out of ideas :S

Shot requires steam, mist and halo light thingies... you know like in the intro train ride from HL1 singelplayer (then waiting on that other train thingy and those doors open and show the yellow light casted from the doors. Or something <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
Okay so I now have 30 days until my new job begins and I'm thinking of trying to cram a small classic map in to that time, seeing as things are going well now. Otherwise I'll take a slow steady route, seen as the area is missing something, needs something more I don't know what, but for now I will leave it as it is. For now this is how it will stay, ideas are very much welcomed <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
