In my defense, there's just a lot going on this particular day and night. I won't be back until the vote deadline is over, and with my class sched today I can't afford to devote the necessary time to making a credible decision about voting. So I intend to be involved with this game, just today is unusually difficult.

Any movement plan is fine with me, since I'm in an outer room I'm limited.... I'm fine in the main hall (as Im Lost got that clue, not me) -- or I'm fine moving two rooms and waiting until the next night to search.

    Is moving two rooms legal?

FYI - I have the clue from the Pool & Gym
    <!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Yes, you have the clue, but nobody else has that clue except one other person does. While it maybe your benefit to not go back to that room, the other people, including me, do not have that particular clue and would like to get it. This idea seems very bad, and seems wolfish to me to make other people avoid that room.

I'm sorry, but that's a red flag to me for the proposed movement. I vote on <b>doomchica</b>. If you provide a very good reason as to why to avoid that room, I'll change my vote.

    Current tally:

(... what in the world? Nobody's been keeping it up? I'll post-merge it on my next post)

    Demiguise (3) - im_lost, TheAdj, GrayDuck
    screaming_tree4 (3) - screaming_tree4, Chakuu, Eternaly_Lost

Interesting, I voted and I skipped voting...

    Real tally:

    Demiguise (3) - im_lost, TheAdj, GrayDuck
    screaming_tree4 (3) - screaming_tree4, Chakuu, Eternaly_Lost
    GrayDuck (1) - Petco
    Nightstalker (1) - Nightstalker

This is correct, assuming Theslan only made one mistake.

Moving two rooms is legal, you just don't get to search that night.

On another note, why send everyone into the rooms we know have clues? Only one person can get the clue, so unless there are multiple people using the search option, only one person gains information. The rest of the people get nothing out of it. If anyone wanted to move to a room that shouldn't have a clue, they could be another person to verify it. Not that it would be very useful at this point to do that. It kind of seems like everyone could focus on trying to get whatever clues they need, and we're going to be cramming multiple people into each clue room anyway, so I think everyone could just pick the room they want and things will wok fine. If we're going to share clues then we already have enough information for someone to catch a lie. If we aren't going to share clues then everyone is going to be working on an individual basis, and a movement plan isn't very useful.

To summarize, I don't think a movement plan will be helpful tonight, especially since we've identified all of the rooms that have clues.

The way you said this one part sounds incorrect. The search option does not guarentee you to find a clue, and does not allow multiple people using search to find the same clue. It simply let's you know whether or not that room contains a clue.
  • im_lostim_lost TWG Rule Guru Join Date: 2003-04-26 Member: 15861Members
I guess I didn't say it very clearly. The people using just the search option would be able to verify that there is a clue in the room, and would therefore have new information (even if they don't get the clue).

I think the artifact thing has both encouraged activity and distracted us from the goal of finding the wolves. Now that we know which rooms contain them, I suggest the plan be revised. I have no intention of wasting a turn searching a room (Boardroom) without a clue, when I could just as easily try for the clue in my current room or move two spaces to the next known clue.

I think it's also fairly convenient how <b>doomchica</b> directed both EMP and me out of the Pool and Gym, placing herself inside, when EMP could have easily verified the clue I received by remaining where he was. Granted, self-interest doesn't necessarily imply being a wolf (As a human, the only person you can always trust is yourself), but I'm starting to dislike the idea of one person moving everyone around like puppets.

All right, here's something I need to post. I won't be around for "tomorrow" much. I will be leaving town a few hours before the day starts, and if my plane is on time, I will be back at my place with less than an hour left in the day. There is the chance that I will be able to leach wireless internet from a nearby hotel (since I'm going to bring my laptop along), but I'm not going to count on that. I should be able to avoid a phantom vote, and I should have enough time at the end of the day to read over the thread, but I won't be around for discussion.

<b>screaming_tree4</b> was looking around the main hall of the mansion for a clue along with <b>Eternaly_Lost</b>. Neither of them was having very much success at the moment. “Ugh, why does this seem hopeless?” asked <b>screaming_tree4</b>.

“I don’t know man but there’s bound to be one in here somewhere.” Answered <b>Eternaly_Lost</b> in response.

<b>screaming_tree4</b> sighed. It wasn’t as if he was here because he was greedy or anything. He was at heart an environmentalist and he needed the money from this competition to start up his own environmental protection agency. All these other people… <b>screaming_tree4</b> knew that they must be here for their own reasons. Greed, corporations, and politics. All of the things that <b>screaming_tree4</b> wanted to do without. “<i>I’ve just got to survive this, and then I’ll be able to save the trees. I can make a difference in the world."</i>

<b>screaming_tree4</b> knew that what he was doing here was for a good reason. It was that thought that gave him the determination to keep his spirits high and his search ongoing.

“I wonder if that’s the clue up there?” <b>Eternaly_Lost</b> asked.

<b>screaming_tree4</b> turned towards <b>Eternaly_Lost</b> in order to see where he was pointing. He was apparently pointing up at the ceiling so <b>screaming_tree4</b> took a glance up in that general direction to see what he was pointing to. There was a support beam, and at the very top of it what appeared to be some sort of small paper attached.

“That’s great! But how do we get to it?” asked <b>screaming_tree4</b>.

“It’s obvious isn’t it? One of us is going to have to climb.”

“But how? There isn’t anything to grab onto…”

In response <b>Eternaly_Lost</b> walked around the side of the support beam and looked up. “There’s a ladder up here that must be used for maintenance. I think I can pull it down.” <b>Eternaly_Lost</b> crouched down and took a jump high into the air. There was a clanking sound as his hands made contact with the ladder and pulled it towards the ground. “After you.”

<b>screaming_tree4</b> reluctantly walked forward and with a determined nod at <b>Eternaly_Lost</b> began to scale himself up the ladder. He had been up on high places before, but this by far the most dangerous high place he had been to. With nothing to support him but the steel ladder rungs under his feet, each step he took upwards felt more intimidating than the last. Nearly half-way to the top he looked down and saw shuddered seeing <b>Eternaly_Lost</b> so far near the ground, half the size of what he should look like. <b>screaming_tree4</b> looked back up the ladder and continued to ascend. Each step became more and more perilous and near the top his foot almost slipped off the ladder at one point. Luckily he was able to grab back onto the top before he fell off.

“<i>Almost there…</i> he thought, his hands now sweating in angst. A couple steps more and he was at the top. “Ah ha! Got you!” he shouted grabbing the piece of paper right off the wall. “I’m heading back down!” he shouted towards <b>Eternaly_Lost</b> at the bottom.

    “Crink!”

“What was that?” <b>screaming_tree4</b> asked himself. He looked towards the source of the sound, which came directly from where his right hand was. “Oh crap!”

The part of the ladder which was attached into the wall had come loose. What he saw next terrified him. The same part snapped into two on both sides. Under him he heard the same snapping sound coming from each rung. “AHHHH!!!!”

From the bottom <b>Eternaly_Lost</b> watched in horror as the ladder began to fall backwards with <b>screaming_tree4</b> still holding onto the top. In a few seconds the entire thing came off the wall crashing down and crushing <b>screaming_tree4</b> beneath it. His body made a sickening thud as it collided with the ground and his bones snapped. <!--coloro:red--><span style="color:red"><!--/coloro--><b>screaming_tree4</b><!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--> died screaming.

“This is insane! What are they thinking!” shouted <b>Demiguise</b> to <b>Theslan</b> for what seemed like the hundredth time. “They can’t just keep us here and let us kill each other! What kind of sick people would actually watch a competition where the object is for everyone to die!?”

<b>Theslan</b> shook his head in frustration and a bit of irritation as well. He had heard a rumour that the north corridor contained a clue, but <i>where was it hidden?</i> It wasn’t as if there was a lot in the place, just some windows and chairs. He was so deeply involved into searching the place that he barely heard what <b>Demiguise</b> was ranting about. It wasn’t until he heard his name being called that he even remembered there was someone else in the room with him.

“What… is it?” <b>Theslan</b> sneered in a barely audible whisper. Couldn’t <b>Demiguise</b> see he was busy searching?

“There’s something outside this room, look!”

Slowly getting up <b>Theslan</b> walked towards the window at which <b>Demiguise</b> was pointing and peered out. He was right, there were defiantly figures stirring out there. “What do you think it is?” <b>Demiguise</b> asked in a fearful voice.

“Probably just wolves, this house <i>is</i> in the middle of a forest after all.” But even as he said it <b>Theslan</b> wondered just how sure he was about that. After all, did wolves eyes always glow red like that? He wasn’t completely sure, but from pictures and videos he did think that wolves eyes tended to be yellow. Also, why were they apparently circling the house? Yes animals stalked pray but it wasn’t as if there was a way for them to get in here was there?

“Uhh, <b>Theslan</b>…” <b>Demiguise</b> said tapping <b>Theslan</b> on the shoulder.

    “What is it now?”

<b>Theslan</b> turned around and it was obvious what <b>Demiguise</b> had been pointing to. A wolf was entering the room <i>through the wall</i>. “RUN!”

Charging as fast as they could <b>Theslan</b> and <b>Demiguise</b> ran towards the bedrooms of the mansion, the red eyed wolf hot on their tails. “<i>Wait a second…</i>” <b>Theslan</b> thought as he approached the door. “<i>It will just follow us through the wall!</i>”

But what other option did they have? They were both weaponless. They reached the door of the bedrooms and ran inside slamming it behind them. Inside the room stood <b>Chakuu</b> who was apparently stunned at the site of them running into the bedroom so randomly. They faced the bedroom door and waited for the wolf to jump through after them. But after a several minutes, they realized that it didn’t seem to be coming.

“What,” Started <b>Chakuu</b>. “was that all about?”

Before anyone could respond however, the TV screen which they had all seen appear earlier in various areas on the mansion reappeared in the bedroom with the face of Freak83 on it.

“I would just like to offer my congratulations.” Freak83 said. “Someone here has successfully retrieved the artifact from my vault. Now all you have to worry about is killing each other!”

    <img src="http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y156/Freak83/TWG%20X/MapDay3.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

    --------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes it’s true! The code has been cracked and one of you now has the Artifact! Although at this point you don’t know who has it or what it does, here’s what you do know.

If the player with the artifact dies and the artifact is <i>not used</i> that player will drop it in the room they are in and the first person to search that room will retrieve the artifact. In this event, you will know when it has been dropped. For this reason, you will continue to move around the mansion at night although the hunt for clues at this point is now pointless.

Also yes, there was no death this night which means there was a successful Guardian save.

Day Three will end Sunday at 9:00 PM EST. Instalynch is at 8.

AS for my vote, there is very little to go on. Most people where in a frenzy over the clues, so there was little talk that would at lest hint at who is a wolf and who is not.

I'm loving this activity. I realize that there isn't much to go on, and it's in situations like this where you create conversation. Some things that I've seen in the past on the other forum I played TWG was just getting everyone together on AIM (because we didn't use IRC there) and just starting a group conversation. This has taken place on Day 1 when there's <i>really</i> nothing to go on, and you'd be surprised how it can get people to start talking.

I'm not trying to persuade peoples oppinions or anything here, but rather trying to get the game flowing. If you're on IRC (which I hope you are) start talking and asking people things in public, rather than in whispers.
