After some thought, I will also vote <b>Demiguise</b> since he does want out of the game. If I'm wrong in this let me know, and I'll most likely change it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

    I'm voting for <b>Eternaly_Lost</b>.

On another note, what happened to all the activity? This is the first internet access I've had since the day started, I'll be on an airplane in less than an hour, and then I should be back at my place shortly before the day ends (in case someone actually says something of meaning).

    Appended post:

    Vote count:
    Demiguise (3) - Eternaly_Lost, GrayDuck, Nightstalker
    Nightstalker (1) - Comprox
    Theslan (1) - Petco
    Eternaly_Lost (1) - im_lost
    Doomchica (0.001)

I will be voting for <b>Demiguise</b> as well.

It seems he intentionally made it look like he wanted to vote for himself without actually bolding his name...

    Sneaky, sneaky...

<b>Demiguise</b> was pacing the bedroom. “<i>This place is a mess.</i>” Nearly an hour had passed since he and <b>Theslan</b> had run in here frantic to get away from the wolf with the red eyes. And now that the Artifact had been taken, <b>Demiguise</b> knew the other competitors had nothing to distract them from killing him now. “<i>They’re all bloodthirsty animals!</i>”

He walked back over to the door and very slowly and cautiously opened it up just enough that a little sliver of the moonlight from the window of the north corridor was able to get through. There didn’t <i>appear</i> to be anything in there any longer, but what was the point of taking his chances when it was so much more comfortable in here. “<i>Speaking of which, I should probably barricade the door.</i>”

Of course, it was a great plan! Quite ingenious really if <b>Demiguise</b> did think so himself. Quietly, <b>Demiguise</b> shut the door to the north corridor and looked around the bedroom for something to block the doors with. “<i>Ah ha! That dresser will do nicely.</i>” he thought to himself.

He walked towards the door opposite of the one he was standing next to. The door to the south corridor had a dresser right next to it, and will all his might he was able to push the dresser so it was blocking the door. “Ah ha, that should prevent anyone from coming to get me!” <b>Demiguise</b> said out loud proudly looking at his barricade. In sheer exhaustion from moving the dresser, he fell back onto the bed and shut his eyes. “<i>I’ll just rest for a moment, and then I’ll block the other door too.</i>”

Elsewhere in the mansion, came a distinct glow from a room hidden deep underground. This room was the center of winding tunnels which ran deep underneath the mansion, and in this room there was a dozen television sets and one gigantic control panel. On one screen showed the main hall of the mansion, with a figure crushed underneath a ladder. In another screen there was an image of a man lying dead on the floor with a bullet through his chest. On a third and fourth TV from two different angles there displayed an image of a man lying face down, soaking in a pool of his own blood. And in the center of the room sat a lone figure watching the gym of the mansion, where a woman was exercising, using the fitness center to train. As the man sat in the chair watching, something outside the realm of normal happened. A wolf with glowing red eyes walked into the room straight through the solid doorframe. The man in the chair lingered for a moment, and then without turning his head said “you’re late.”

In a flash of light the wolf began to glow and swiftly shift into the shape of a man. “My apologies Freak83, but I needed to report that we were unsuccessful in our last attack. Someone interfered.”

The chair swirled as Freak83 spun around to face the werewolf into his eyes. The werewolf shuddered. “May I remind you that I will not tolerate failure? There’s a lot more at stake here than a pathetic cash prize, and I would be very displeased if any of our guests are able to leave here alive.”

“If you’re talking about the Artifact then - ”

“Do not interrupt me while I’m talking. The Artifact is barely a fraction of the true potential of our organisations capabilities. The magic that is imbued into it comes from a much more potent source, and it’s the energy of our guests which we need to feed upon in order to harness that power.”

“In that case, what are your orders sir?”

“Carry on as you have been doing, and this time don’t screw it up.”

The man nodded and turned back into a wolf. Freak83 turned back towards his chair as the wolf walked back through the door.

    ***
Back in the bedroom <b>Demiguise</b> was suddenly jerked awake by a banging sound coming from the southern door of the bedroom. Someone was trying to get in through the barricade! <b>Demiguise</b> quickly jumped up out of the bed and charged through the door back into the north corridor. Whoever it was would have to catch him! Looking back towards the bedroom he ran forward towards the mansions den when – “Oof!”

He had collapsed suddenly into someone. He looked up and recognized him from earlier when they had all been gathered in the main hall. What was his name again? Oh yes… <b>Demiguise</b> seemed to recall this man as being <b>TheAdj</b>. “Hey! Watch where you’re going!” shouted <b>TheAdj</b> at him.

Ignoring <b>TheAdj</b>, <b>Demiguise</b> got up and quickly ran towards the den. “Hey! Watch out, don’t go that way! Someone activated a trap!”

<b>Demiguise</b> wasn’t going to fall for that! He had come in this way earlier and nothing was going to stop him now. He reached the door of the den and turned the handle when –

    <i>Squish!</i>

Without any warning, turning the doors handle had caused the wall on the north and south side of where <b><!--coloro:red--><span style="color:red"><!--/coloro-->Demiguise</b><!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--> was standing to come together and squish him like a bug. When they separated, all that was left of him was a pile of blood and guts.

<!--sizeo:6--><span style="font-size:24pt;line-height:100%"><!--/sizeo-->It is now Day Four! Post away!<!--sizec--></span><!--/sizec-->

<b>Nightstalker</b> entered into the lounge of the mansion alone. Recently, he had noticed that something strange was going on here – something… peculiar. It had struck him as a thought when they had been gathered together earlier; wasn’t it rather unusual that out of the blue he had been invited to go on some reality television show that no-one had ever heard of? He had never been lucky in the past, so why now had he been randomly chosen to contend for fame and riches?

Secondly, the Artifact that had been hidden in this mansion, it seemed like a ploy to <b>Nightstalker</b>. “<i>Get a bunch of us to hunt around this place for something that we don’t know even know if it really exists. Something is wrong here.</i>”

He sat down in one of the lounge chairs. He had just walked through the kitchen of the mansion where the dead body of <b>Omegaman</b> still lay in a puddle of his own dry blood. The smell alone was enough to make someone sick, and what was to stop him from ending up like that next. <b>Nightstalker</b> reached out and pulled the lever on the side of the chair to make it recline upwards so his legs could stretch out - however it did not want to budge. “Ugh, what’s wrong with this thing?” he asked out loud.

Will all of strength <b>Nightstalker</b> pulled it as hard as he could. In a moment there was the sound of something clicking and without warning the chair began to descend into the floor like an elevator to hell. “Holy crap!” <b>Nightstalker</b> shouted out loud.

Before he had a chance to jump out of the seat the chair had already descended below ground level and he was stuck as it went deeper and deeper into the darkness. “HEY UP THERE! CAN ANYONE HEAR ME!?” he shouted towards the top hoping someone would come into the lounge and see what had happened.

There was no answer but no matter – as soon as the chair hit the floor he would hit the switch and go back up to the top. Soon he would be safe, as he was almost positive he wasn’t supposed to be down here. Shortly enough, there was a thud as the machinery hit the rock bottom of the cold damp cellar strung loosely with only a few small florescent tubes. “<i>What is this place?</i>” <b>Nightstalker</b> thought looking around.

As there was no-one in sight, <b>Nightstalker</b> plucked up his remaining courage and got out of the chair to take a better look around. He walked towards the wall and put his hand against the rock – it was warm. He paced himself around the room in a 360 degree circle sliding his hands around the rock until he reached what could only be – “A hatch…”. He pulled on the handle of the hatch door. The hatch was apparently locked as it didn’t move but as the door refused to budge, a small panel in the wall opened up to reveal a five digit numerical code.

“This code… it’s the same as the one on the vault… whoever found the Artifact must be meant to open this up too.”

“That’s very astute of you <b>Nightstalker</b>.”

<b>Nightstalker</b> turned around and saw Freak83 standing behind him with a red eyed wolf next to his heels. How had they gotten down here without the chair moving?

    “I… I didn’t see you come in the room…” <b>Nightstalker</b> stuttered fearfully.

Freak83 smiled nodding his head slowly. “Kill him.”

At the top of the mansion, no-one heard a sound as <b><!--coloro:red--><span style="color:red"><!--/coloro-->Nightstalker</b><!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--> was ripped to shreds. Shortly after, his mangled body was sitting in the chair back in the mansions lounge.

So yesterday, the day ended with a bunch of votes for Demiguise, plus a few people had a single vote for them. One of them was Eternaly_Lost. I typically wouldn't think anything of a single vote for me, but Eternaly_Lost apparently was concerned with the single vote I placed on him. Here's a log (PST times):

The reasoning behind this was that you gave no reason for the vote against me. I was wondering if it was because of my random.org vote or not.

Comprox voted for nightstaker because of his random.org vote.
I was wondering if doing that random.org vote was a bad idea, nothing more.

Hey Everybody! Missed the last day due to being out of town. What kind of hotel doesn't have free wireless nowadays. So, today I'm all for voting and such...

<b>Eternally Lost</b> you're getting all defensive about a single vote. Dude, this is a werewolf game. Of course people vote for you. As a human I don't think you'd be freaking out until you had three or more votes. That is what makes it suspicious.
  • im_lostim_lost TWG Rule Guru Join Date: 2003-04-26 Member: 15861Members
We're about 20 hours into the day, where is everyone? Just because the artifact has been claimed doesn't mean the game is over. We still have some werewolves to kill.
  • GrayDuckGrayDuck Join Date: 2003-05-08 Member: 16134Members, Constellation
I dunno, I guess we're just waiting for whoever has the artifact to <i>do</i> something with it... that seemed to be what the game was about.

And the wolves have been targeting idle players, so there there isn't much drama to go on...... I guess I'm waiting for something more to go on.

Unless something exciting happens, <b>Eternally Lost</b> is the most suspicious at this time... he's very paranoid and if he were a human he'd have no reason to be.
  • ComproxComprox *chortle* Canada Join Date: 2002-01-23 Member: 7Members, Super Administrators, Forum Admins, NS1 Playtester, NS2 Developer, Constellation, NS2 Playtester, Reinforced - Shadow, WC 2013 - Silver, Subnautica Developer, Subnautica Playtester, Pistachionauts
Well, by this time we can assume some things about the artifact:
    - it wasn't an immediate use thing
    - it wasn't so OMG WTH GAME BREAKING that it was used right away

So, the person who has it could be saving for that special time (be it a human or wolf) or it requires something to be done to be used (say can only use it on the person/people in the room you are in? or the wolves/humans must try and kill the person via lynch or vote?). Just throwing out ideas here. Either way, it doesn't appear it will be used today/soon.

Back to the rest of the game. Im still sitting here wondering who the heck to vote for due to the lack of activity like people have said. The nightly kill, again, has been annoying for me. Another player (Nightstalker) is killed off who hasn't done much. Heck, with all his random.org votes, I was more suspicious of Nightstalker than most other people in this game. Shows how wrong I was.

Eternally Lost, you were right up there in my 'rub me the wrong way' spots as well. When I was talking to you in PM on the first day, you seemed to be shooting down any idea I had without giving it much thought. I brushed it off as my ideas all sucking, but it still left an impression. With this worry about 1 vote, <b>Eternaly_Lost</b>, you also get my vote. Maybe this will cause some action if someone is in the hotseat, please?

I think he means to say something like you people are voting for the wrong person and are being fooled by wolves to vote a person out.

<b>This sort of statement have been said numerous times throughout various TWGs</b>. So it's not unusual. I do not know how much or how often, or so, but I do know statements similar to that have been said before.

Though, I agree that Eternally_Lost was rather defensive with just one vote, but I believe Nightstalker was also defensive with me voting for him on the first day.

He asked me on IRC why I voted for him, and I said random.org , but he was a lot less defensive than Eternally Lost.

In Nightstalker's defense, he was a new player to TWG(I believe) and I also was the first to vote for anyone without any reason for voting for anyone.

There was a lot going on in this place, murder, conspiracy, and even the supernatural seemed to be playing a role in this so called reality television show. In the den sat <b>EMP_Demon</b> and <b>Eternaly_Lost</b> who were now trying to figure out just what to do about all of this.

“As I was saying <b>Eternaly_Lost</b>, there’s no way that anything Freak83 has been telling us can be true. I was <i>there</i> and I saw the wolf. It came into the pool room straight through the floor and wandered off into the mansion. Do you think he wouldn’t know about these things roaming the place on their own?”

<b>Eternaly_Lost</b> shook his head. “Again, what you’re telling me is ridiculous. Think about what you’re saying here – wolves which are normal creatures <i>walking through walls and floors</i>? I mean I’m not denying that something weird is going on here but that’s just downright crazy.”

    “I know what I saw!”

<b>Eternaly_Lost</b> stood up still shaking his head. “Look, our main goal has to be to figure out how to get out of here in one piece. Now magical wolves or not, we can’t go about killing each other any longer. You’ve seen the bodies, <b>Omegaman</b> smashed to death in the kitchen. <b>screaming_tree4</b> plummeted and got crushed in the main hall. And in the room just next to us there’s a pile of blood and gore! Do you want to end up like them?”

<b>Eternaly_Lost</b> started to walk back towards the east corridor. “Come with me if you want to live.”

<b>EMP_Demon</b> stood up but didn’t follow immediately. Part of what <b>Eternaly_Lost</b> had been saying was true, but <b>EMP_Demon</b> had seen some pretty disturbing things before even coming to this place - thing’s that had twisted his mind. Not too long ago <b>EMP_Demon</b> had been part of a group to explore an evil cave, a place where he had seen many of his comrades die. As far as the wolves that could walk through solid barriers went? <b>EMP_Demon</b> thought they were actually laughable after he had to deal with a Basilisk. “You’re right…” <b>EMP_Demon</b> said as he walked up to and behind putting his arm around <b>Eternaly_Lost’s</b> neck. “I <i>don’t</i> want to end up like them.”

<b><!--coloro:red--><span style="color:red"><!--/coloro-->Eternaly_Lost</b><!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--> struggled for breath and tried to lift <b>EMP_Demon’s</b> arm away from his neck. But his efforts were futile, and his fight grew weaker and weaker as his life was sapped away and his eyes shut for eternity.

“Murder and insanity, that’s what it is.” Said an angry <b>doomchica</b> who was now doing sit ups in the gym. While everyone was running around the place killing each other <b>doomchica</b> knew what she was going to do. Work out and train to get her adrenaline pumping enough so she would be able to take everyone down and win this contest. “That prize money is as good as mine.”

It was also true that she hadn’t found the Artifact but felt confident enough to win this thing without it. That was certainly how she was feeling as the door to the room creaked open from the pool area.

The sudden sound alerted her and she jumped up to see who was there. The door was indeed open enough for a person to enter into the room, but a quick scan of the premises was enough for <b>doomchica</b> to realize there wasn’t anyone there. Quietly as a ninja, she tiptoed across the floor and slid across the wall towards the door being extremely careful not to make a sound. She got to the door, and unable to see anyone, poked her head around the doorframe into the pool room. Tired of the hidden act she yelled out “who the hell is there? Show yourself!”

    There was no answer.

<b>doomchica</b> confidently walked out into the pool area and stood a few feet away from the edge of the pool looking around. “Hey! I know there’s someone here so why don’t you quit hiding and come face me! Unless you’re scared?”

At that note, the door behind her leading into the gym creaked again. <b>doomchica</b> turned around and saw a man walking out of it. “<i>How did he get in there without me seeing him?</i>”

“Ah, sorry to frighten you <b>doomchica</b> but I couldn’t hide there any longer after you challenged my stature.” He said clearly noticing the defensive stance <b>doomchica</b> had gone into.

“What do you want? You’re one of the contestants aren’t you?”

“Well not <i>exactly</i>, I’m actually an employee here. It’s my job to kill you.”

<b>doomchica</b> snarled at the man, “then bring it. I don’t think you’ll have much luck actually.”

Before the man could respond <b>doomchica</b> charged at him, jumped into the air and did a drop kick into his chest. He stumbled back a few steps crashing into the wall.

    “Ow.”

Not willing to stop, she threw a fist at his head but he caught it in mid punch and held it not letting go. In return <b>doomchica</b> brought her left leg off the ground to deliver a strong kick to the groin. With his free hand he caught her foot in mid swing and twisted it knocking her to the floor.

“Seriously <b>doomchica</b>, can’t you even allow me a minute to gloat over the situation before I kill you? I can finish it right now if you wish though. It’s really your choice.” As he said it he lifted his boot up towards her face, the underside was lined with what had to be a hundred sharp looking spikes.

<b>doomchica</b> jerked her head away from under his boot and he laughed. “Do you seriously think this is a contest for your benefit? The staff her possess certain gifts and so do some of the people amongst yourselves. In order to feed our power however, we need to consume your own.

“What are you talking about?” <b>doomchica</b> asked laying on the ground.

“Oh it’s nothing you need to worry about my dear, you’re not going to last much longer anyway.”

As he said it <b>doomchica</b> shot upwards in what she hoped was an unexpected attack. She lunged to headbutt him but as soon as she got to where his head was supposed to be – “What!? Where did he go!?”

She felt something sharp sink into her leg. <b><!--coloro:red--><span style="color:red"><!--/coloro-->doomchica<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--></b> looked down and saw a wolf biting at her leg. The sharp fangs somehow sapped her of her strength in an instant. Within mere moments she had collapsed onto the floor, and the wolf feasted on her corpse.

Day Five will end Sunday at 9:00 PM EST although I’m going to be away for the whole weekend so the chance of me being able to get stories up on time or maybe even make a post to signal the end of the day is going to be difficult. That’s why the day is extra long. Instalynch is at 6.

Based on his defense of Eternaly_Lost yesterday, I'm going to vote for <b>Petco</b>

I defended Eternally_Lost's statement in the quote, and <i>just the statement itself</i>. The four posts below by Comprox, doomchica, Chakuu, and Xentor which made Eternally_Lost's statement<i>(Which has been made by other players in various other TWGs before)</i> sound "stupid" or "contradicting". I defended Eternally_Lost's statement because what of they said which was a bit mean.

It was not the dumbest reasoning, it was not a stupid or contradicting post if you <i>just look at the statement itself</i> and ignore that Eternally_Lost's obvious defensiveness to being voted for earlier in the page.

I've made other posts like I did to defend Eternally_Lost, such as <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=97768&view=findpost&p=1599179" target="_blank">this one</a> and with Demiguise and Grayduck calling that voting for yourself is stupid.

*sigh*... The contradiction was that he wanted the wolves to win, yet said that killing him would help in that. Granted, my logic is incomplete. The sentence implies that either he was a wolf, or he was a working against his own team. Either way, the correct move was to kill him off, so I stand by my last vote.

(Auto-edit) That should read "a human working against..." I shouldn't type when my fingers are too tired to keep up with my brain.
